Alina Zagitova Will Not Be Raising Her Akita Dog ‘Masaru
Olympic gold medalist Alina Zagitova (15) lives together with her grandma in an apartment in Moscow, separated from her family back in her hometown due to training. Alina raises a cat and two chinchillas with her grandma, recently being gifted an Akita dog from the Akita Dog Preservation Society because of her interest in the dog and hard work at the Olympics.
Because of Alina’s busy overseas schedules, she cannot take care of her Akita dog, Masaru.
“It’s no problem to raise an Akita dog even for a young girl like herself but to protect the flow of her lifestyle, she can feed and walk the dog at scheduled times. It doesn’t take a long time to walk the dog even though it’s a large breed, the same is true for both Shiba dogs and Akita dogs. If she takes the dog on a 30-minute walk, it’ll be just fine”
“It’s true that the Figure Skating Federation Of Russia will fully take care of Masaru. Her home is cramped so she’s unable to take care of it but, a doghouse will be built for her at the skating rink as she practices there. We think the kids and coach of the club will love it and want to accept it, so we believe it’s a great way to raise the dog”
