Alina Zagitova

I will fly to Russia and walk that dog myself if that’s what needs to happen to get Alina this puppy! Hey RusFed, maybe help upgrade your gold medal athletes apartment and spring for a dog walker/trainer. This puppy is part of international diplomacy, maybe make the whole process a priority and figure it out.

To be fair, we don't know that they haven't figured it out already. We won't know until Masaru arrives and Alina hopefully posts a lot of IG stories. Please let this happen!

I agree with you 100% on the apartment. 1000%! Please let those rumors be true!

Alina said in an interview she had been watching videos about Akitas, she posted a story of a book about Akitas she was reading. She mentioned hiring someone to help her (I don't know what a kinologist is but I'm assuming it is something helpful!) Also the Japanese Akita Association said that it's Moscow office would be available to assist Alina. And if the Rus Fed wants to help out financially, then all the better!

Alina's grandmother was willing to leave her home, friends, family and entire life in Izhvesk behind and relocate to Moscow for Alina's skating career. Not an easy thing for anyone. She will help Alina make the situation with Masaru work.

I think they've got this.

Noone knows what it is, because there's no such word in English, sorry, my mistake. I meant dog handler/trainer/expert, in russian it's кинолог.

Most of figure skating fans and people in Japan already know Alina's kind, animal-loving personality and her residential situation. Also, it is easy to imagine how expensive everything is in a big city like Moscow, especially when renting an apartment. Akita Association is partially responsible for this, so I'm sure they are doing an arrangement in corporation with Rus Fed.
Apart from that, I hope Alina get a more spacious apartment or receive endorsements which she truly deserves (e.g. TV commercials in Japan:luv17:).

As far as I've seen, those who posted negative comments are mainly animal protection activists, or people who always say whatever they want to say on the internet. Both of them know very little about the true situation going on.
So, I personally don't worry about the fuss, as it will be proved to be a useless precaution when we see Masaru's living happily with Alina and maybe other skaters and staffs of Sambo.:)

I am sure , Rusfed do not deal with dogs, cats , boyfriends and girlfriends of skaters:laugh:

How true - if any of these "critics" had ever read a story or seen a video of Alina - they would know she is the last person on earth that would consider an animal merely a "plaything".

If I were a dog - I would hope my owner would have even one percent of Alina's compassion.

Alina's main responsibility is to perform well, not to take care of dogs. She needs to be very careful about doing anything that's socially jarring over the next year. Don't switch apartments and don't let getting a new dog be too distracting. Stay hungry. She needs to be wary about people who do not have her best interest at heart.

TBH, it would be best if her parents and sister took care of the dog for a few years(she could probably have it while it's a puppy).

I cannot agree more... thank you for expressing exactly my thoughts!

Good to have a father as coach

Alina's Dad is having the time of his life with his girls. And he is great trainer too.

I should hire him to see if that gets me in shape.

All we need is to have mom in tomorrow's post and then there's the complete set!

I love that she's enjoying her vacation and keeping training in mind. Even more so, I love how her family is not only supportive through words, but through action! It's always nice to have company when exercising :)

Alina posted two more workout videos on her instagram stories - this time including Sabina!

If someone could translate what she wrote on them - thank you

Oops - sorry - I just saw the posts above - thank you Lusk8 and EdRoz.

Prepare a hockey stick and puck)

:laugh2: And I should also get someone with a video camera to film it so I can later make some money on American Funniest Videos.

Fun fact: I'm a figure skating fan that can't skate at all.

Guess that's why I like Alina so much, she makes it look so easy. How she did that one foot slalom at the Japanese TV Show (even on the first time, she went nearly all the way), was just WOW. Enhanced by the fact that before her we had Hanyu clone doing the same thing (and he is a former hockey player) he was all over the place and quickly lost.

Alina is such a hardworking girl! If she continues like this she'll come back from this holiday so strong that she'll land quads and quints  Joking a little bit but anyway she is so focused and tenacious. :luv17:

I'm the same way - I tried when I was 13 (with hockey skates) - but it wasn't pretty.

Reminds me of an "Everybody Loves Raymond" episode where Robert said "I think I could have been a good hockey player" and Raymond replied "Yeah - but eventually you would have to let go of the boards!"

Alina's dedication to that whole show was awesome. Up for any challenge.
