Alina Zagitova

A cool moment where we can see "Alina the great fighter" at play, after missing the 3Lz during the jump contest she asked to do it again.

Revenge 3Lz is the best 3Lz.

I don't know if this is THAT 3Lz because I didn't see whole show yet, but after one show Japanesse fans wrote on Twitter that Alina missed her 3lz and then after endind when Yuzuru was hugging/hivefiving etc. all skaters, he encourage her to do another one. So maybe it was this one, he enourage her when she was in the line and she then goes ask him after he greet all skaters if now it's a time and she can go? It's super sweet! And I love all interaction full of respect and admiration between Alina and Yuzuru.

(Btw he did the same for Rika at next show, she missed her 3A and he enourage her to do it again, he is such an amazing person!)

This is really bad...

It's just disconcerting, to say the least. The blow-back on Alina from the sh.*.t-storm this might cause (or, has caused already) is definitely not what she needs right now...

He did amend his initial post though, but only after it hit the fan...

I see Alina's next competition as good as Tonya's 1994 Olympics.
The mob is ready to burn the witch.

Plagiarism is a big hit especially if it's not your fault... The girl may just go home.

At first I thought this was an official video for the song but it is not. And there are different ones out there with similar movement and people on the foor. All of this over a shirt in the mouth.

I like that you put those two "affairs" on the same level... :rolleye:

At least you are consistent with your nickname.

From the casual FS observer's point of view it's the same level. If not worse just because it's new and fresh.

- Let boo the girl! The more of us doing noise the better...

From what I read from the people I must admit that you may be right :dance2:

I was wondering why no one is posting about this in here since it does involve the reigning Olympic champion who also happens to be the reigning world champion. I am sad at the whole situation and that Alina is taking some crap for what was her choreographers mistake. But he has publicly apologized and that should be the end of it. Right?

Now what do they do in terms of keeping the exhibition and giving JoJo credit and compensating her for her choreography or do they change it to Danils choreography? I think Etrri will decide whatever is best for Alinas mental state is what they will do with this exhibition piece. I am all for giving JoJo credit even compensating her and involving her in some way in person with Alina and Danilet. I just don't want Alina harmed by this in any way.

It was very disappointing to learn that some figure skating fans are going to Alinas Instagram page to harass her for Danils mistake.

This got me thinking about what do figure skaters do when they're skating to music and classic pieces especially like Romeo and Juliet. Who did they compensate for that? Flanker answer this in the edge and it has something to do with copywriting.

Let's not forget that Alina has great PR managers behind her back and I am almost sure that they'll help her and her team to overcome this problem. Maybe they'll also advise them how to proceed, for example if it will be wise to keep the program, just change it or completely abandon it.

Why make excuses for Alina, she really doesn’t need it. Good jumps>>>>>Bad landings duh, poster above stated the obvious and it’s their loss they couldn’t enjoy program we’ve all been waiting for. I for example thought camera angles weren’t good enough to catch everything Alina did there, but I forgive them coz they zoomed in on that awesome spin.

*Speaking of serious real excuses, in interview posted above Alina also spoke about her 5th place at nationals :“I wasn’t able to train in a full force coz of burn [right ankle]” and she said that unwavering support from coaches and family helped her to overcome all that.

What’s you problem ? You never made mistakes and you are great in everything you do ?

Alina like others is not a machine if you dont like her. Don’t watch her.

Wow lechat you got the claws out!

In my opinion Alina never should have skated at Russian Nationals with those burns on her right ankle. And now we know she couldn't even trained right for that incredibly difficult competition. And Alina skated the free skate at Grand Prix Final in Vancouver with a hematoma on her right ankle the size of a hot dog. She is so much tougher than she looks . She is amazing. A true warrior for sure.

The noise about it is surprising to me because I have seen numerous skating programs taking moves from the official music video of the artists and no credit given.

I know. It's been going on for years. But because of the power of the internet and how fast things can get out of hand all choreographers have to be careful now about who they get their ideas from and giving them credit for it if need be. This JoJo woman went public and said Danil stole from her. I agree that he should have given her credit for the choreography but he has paid a big price for this with his reputation being dinged. He apologized to her and then she went back at him again. SMH. I just wish that Danils apology was the end of it. This got out of hand fast because of the power of the internet and because a lot of people don't like Eteri's great team.. Some figure skating fans were even writing to Alinas sponsor's complaining about it. SMH.

This whole issue has nothing to do with Alina in all that was done wrong, as in the choreographic moves appropriation, this was done by Daniil and Daniil alone. It's an issue concerning him, not Alina.

Since this is not his fanfest or a thread on the edge I don't see the need to keep on further discussing this.

The aggrieved party, the choreographer Jojo, has said herself that this had nothing to do with Alina, said in on her post and again in private through DMs she sent to Alina. She said she admires Alina's talent and wanted her to know that she doesn't blame her one inch for any of this. The content of the DMs was revealed by Jojo's boyfriend under one of Alina's pictures, I'll post what he wrote here: "Hey everyone I’m Jojo’s BF and have been by her side through all of this. She only reached out to Alina for clarity and for this young athlete to know from the source that she know it’s not her fault and that she appreciates her talent. So please, do not continue to spread unnecessary negative energy on this young ones page. Take it elsewhere."

Jojo has said in her own post that this is not on Alina, her boyfriend has further clarified matters.

So yeah, end of story as far as Alina is concerned. No need for us to go endless rounds on her fanfest discussing an issue that she has no fault in or blame for. Plenty of other places to have discussions on Daniil on GS, so please let's take talks about this subject there.

As far as "figure skating fans doing this or that" in messages to sponsors, people really need to first research what they are talking about and second get busy doing other more productive things with their lives instead of continuously try to prosecute for any imagined and farfetched wrong someone they resent just because she is that good. That great in fact. And yes, won every single title there is to win as both a Junior and a Senior and did it by the age of 16.

She is the champion of everything and nothing they do will change this. Ever.

Today is International Olympic Day!!!

Nothing more fitting than bring the party over here too.

Wikipedia lists the number of Gold Medals awarded in combined Summer and Winter Olympic Games from 1896 to 2018 at 6.177 Gold Medals (Total Medals combining Gold, Silver and Bronze are listed as 18.853). If we look at only Gold Medals awarded at Winter Games during this span of time we have the number 1.062 (out of 3.170 total).

The number of Gold Medals above, if we counted each one as one individual (and we know that several people have won multiple medals), is less people that an average small rock concert. The Winter Games number is even less, a medium sized cruise ship.

Not a lot of people have won Olympic Gold Medals (or even Olympic Medals at all) and among them we have our Alina, the proud owner of two.

Her Individual Olympic Gold Medal is a dream come true for her and the result of hard work, dedication and having the talent to pull it all off at the right time when it mattered the most.

Enjoy International Olympic Day Alina, you belong to a historical select club that involves very few and your place among the stars is forever guaranteed.
