American Idol - Season 7

Ramiele, Jason, Carly, Michael, David A., Syesha, and Kristy should have gone before Chikezie. My rankings for the season so far were.....

Chikezie
Brooke
David C.
Michael
David A.
Syesha
Kristy
Carly
Ramiele
Jason

My breif take on the 3/25 performances and ensuing bottom 3 and "booted" performer: (in the order they performed not the order I liked them)

Ramiele...she's gotta go. We might have heard a hint of this supposed big voice she has but she is just boring.

Jason--Fragile--not his best performance but he's getting enough votes because he's so cute and likable he'll be around for awhile.

Seyesha--I also find her boring. Her voice isn't awful, she just isn't entertaining.

Chikezie--not a strong performance this week.

Brooke--It's hard not to like her, I thought she was okay last week with Here Comes the Sun but didn't think her Every Breath YOu Take this week was very strong.

Michael Johns--I love him! Good performance!

Carly--Total Eclipse of the Heart--I totally disagreed with the judges, I really like her and her voice and her performances.

David A.--didn't know the song and agreed with Simon, it was rather cheesey or something.

Kristy Lee--her strongest performance so far and with it, she did deserve to go through for another week even though her previous performances were such that she should've already been gone.

David Cook--I'd never heard the version of Billy Jean and I can't say that I liked it but I guess he did it well since he got good comments from the judges.

My bottom 3 would've been Ramiele, Seyesha and David A. I was disappointed to see Chickezie sent home.

I was also disappointed to see Chikezie leave, especially as I'd predicted Ramiele to go this week in the office Top 10 pool.
No big bucks for Ravyn. Waah.
I can't say I'm really impressed with any of the contestants this season. I'm finding the recaps on Vote for the Worst and Television Without Pity to be more entertaining than Idol itself.
Oh, well. It's only tee-vee.

Chikeze did have a nice voice, a really good voice, but for me, he was missing that "it" factor. Idol is not just about a great voice, but an appeal that will sell concert tickets. The only one at this point that I would pay to see sing in person is David Cook...........42

I thought Ramiele was the weakest link the other night... based on her up and down weeks she should have gone before Chikeze

Carly was also very bad the other night IMHO....

I adore Jason and am hoping he gets very far. I love love LOVE him. He's got a nice face, but I actually enjoy the tone/quality of his voice. It's different.

Totally agree about Jason, Toni........I can see him singing in a coffee bar.....actually, I can also see him in a t.v. sitcom or on the big screen.......:agree:42

I'm so excited that, DOLLY, is going to be the special guest star next week!! Has she been on Idol before? It's about time!

As for the contestants....Ramielama Ding Dong and Kristy Lee Bark Bark should have been gone a long time ago! Plus, Jason Castro needs to learn to limit his talking while being interviewed because he talks like an uneducated surfer dude on dope...

Jason talks like most guys his age... like it or not... so I guess I'm used to it being in that age demographic.

I think that he is shy = he's not used to anything like this = they all come around in the end

RAMIELAMA DING DONG??? LOVE it!! I agree, she's totally gotta go. As for Kristy Lee Bark Bark [??????????], I think it's pretty safe to say if they're gonna do Dolly this week, she's definitely gonna make it another round. I'm kind of surprised she's still there, too, but (a) they have definitely had MUCH worse than her in the top 12 over the years, and (b) I'm a bit prejudiced here because the town in Oregon that she's from is only about 75 miles from the town in Oregon I'm living in at the moment.

re. Jason: I think part of it is he's just shy; he admitted early on that he's not very good with the "public relations" part of this gig. At least he's being himself, unlike certain other individuals (whom I won't name, some of you will probably know right off who I'm talking about) who come across as being COACHED all the time.

BTW, David Cook's version of "Billie Jean" is being played on the radio here -- they started playing it at about 7:45 THE MORNING AFTER HE SANG IT. I really do think it has the potential to be a hit.

Yeah, I think they might as well just go ahead and crown David C. Even thought the covers of the classics he did had already been done he still made them his own. It will be interesting to see if he does the modernized version of Dolly's "Jolene" by The White Stripes, but I think even he knows that would be too predictable.. I guess we will see tomorrow.. I'm ready for some DOLLY!

I would like to see him pull a Josh Gracin and find another song and get his own arrangement going. Josh during Billy Joel week was predicted to sing Shameless because Garth Brooks made it a country hit, and he went and shocked everyone when he dared to change up Piano Man (and it was fantastic IMHO)... and IIRC the Judges praised him for stepping away from being predictable.

considering Season 2 is now on Idol Rewind.... ;)

but I was really cheering for Josh and Clay that season (and Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuben too) so it's easy to remember that kind of stuff

Wow, Michael Johns blew me away tonight! Gave me chills! Rock or Soul..he delivered! I'm sick and tired of everyone always comparing everyone who sings "I Will Always Love You" to Whitney.. I actually thought Syesha did a great job with it... Besides, it's Dolly's song..not Whitney's..LOL I thought Carly and David A were also very good tonight.. Oh, and what crawled up Simons a$$ tonight?!? He was a prick! More than usual...LOL

Well, if Syesha sang a la Dolly, no one would've compared her version to Whitney. Anyway, what's up with AI choosing such narrow themes like Beatles (for two weeks in a row) and Dolly Parton week instead of usual country week?
I'm disappointed my favorite, Brooke, didn't have a great performance but happy for Michael for finally delivering!
Totally unrelated, but Jason really reminds me of the tree-hugging nudist guy in my class lol.
