Anastasia Tarakanova

When my BF told me what Tarakan was, I immediately adopter her as "my little cockroach" (it sounds better in spanish, honestly ) She's strong, resilient and will outlive us all when things are bad. All hail the "cucarachita"

And now Nastya says that people called her "Princesse":) There was a girl in russian history who called herself a daughter of the russian Empresse Elizabeth I, "Princesse Tarakanova". She tried to get the throne. But then she was captured by Katherine the Great and died in a prison. Romantik story.

Praying to see some power fist pumps in this beautiful new dress!! Go Nastya :clapper:

I hope she doesn't give up skating !! She needs time to build her reputation and if she keeps developing the way she's right now, well, she's on the right track. Pluschenko knows what has to be done. Nastya just has to find the patience!

Thought she was underscored. Her PCS was the lowest out of all the competitors? Should only get better, but thats really hard to believe.

I don't think there is such danger as long as Nastya holds some whims (like the last time). JGPF is not the last competition, there are rusnats, junior nats, junior worlds. Still plenty of opportunities for her in this season.

Thought she was a bit underscored, but still a new SB for her. Plushenko has her going in the right direction and she should only get better.

Yes, she don't need to let herself down, she is growing and with a whole lot of possibilities to gain medals in the future.

Go Anastasia, keep spinning :dance2:

It was hard to see her cry like that. She gave a wonderful performance in the FS (even though I admittedly prefer the old dress) and she shouldn‘t be too hard on herself. She gave it her everything and fought like a true champion.

It was heartbreaking to see her trying to hold back her tears in the end. I hope she be proud of herself! I'm biased but I loved her program the best! Such powerful jumps and the step sequence was amaaaazing!

Don't be sad, Nastya, you have something special!

Love the new costume, especially the elbow length gloves, she looked so classy!

Ooo! Will she get to skate in the Exhibition I wonder? If so she could skate to Believer 'cos I thought that was boss.

I'm finally coming out of hiding after an incredibly stressful Grand Prix final and season to say that I am so proud of Nastya after this competition. Yes her short didn't go to plan but she fought for that triple toe on the end of the lutz and got it on even if it was under-rotated. Furthermore her free skate was amazing in my opinion with her capturing all of the ideas that she said she wanted to create regarding Beethoven's emotions with the heart break (Even the dress seemed to kind of mimic the style of clothes in 1800s which I thought was really cute) and that first lutz was just beautiful. It was not an ideal competition for her but she can come back fighting and healthy for senior nats and junior nats to try and get that junior worlds spot to give her another shot at a high season's best for next season.

Well who would bet on the 4th place in the finals before the GP season started... so it was a success, after all.. even though last year was better.. fight on, Asya! :cheer2:
