Anastasia Tarakanova

I can't get it into my head how the same girl who gave us little Miss asylum last season can now be such a beautiful and elegant lady this season. Your patient makes progress, Dr. Plushenko, well done! :2thumbs:

Wow! Nastya looked really good, except for the stumble on the flip which cost her the combo, but she still won!

wow, shes putting both her 3-3 combos in second half
I guess she really wants to medal in JGPF, this is possible if Scherbakova gets called and she stays clean

She did so well today and I'm beyond excited to watch her at JGPF. Assuming she does well, I wonder if the fed will send her over one of Eteri's juniors to Worlds... Best of luck to Nastya though!

Congratulations to Nastya! :) I love her skating! And I'm a bit slow, but I just noticed the other day she does that Charlotte spiral into 2A thing that Alina Z does, which is apparently very difficult, so that's awesome!

I'm looking forward to seeing her at the Junior Grand Prix and then Russian Nats. Fingers crossed she does well enough in the latter to make it to Junior Worlds, that'd be so cool.

you mean one of the spot for junior worlds ? only if the door will be open from the eteri girls
right now Scherbakova spot is most vulnerable if that were to happen.

I like her, she is gritty putting two 3-3 in second half she wants to medal there.

I think he prepared the program to replace later the initial 3Lz for the 4T, I hope. The FS program is ambitious and sufficient, the improvement in the technician and especially in the components make think about the best

great work Nastya

(and I think kostornaia is the weakest of the others, but I think that talking about the others does not correspond to this thread)

I agree. This is Nastya's fan fest and I think we should just focus on her and on her progress.

She's come so far since this summer that it's almost unbelievable, I think the current coaching situation is really working for her. I also appreciate the fact that they're letting her develop at her own pace and the fact that they decided to scale back a little bit and take the quad out of the program until she can really stabilise it properly. It means she can focus more on continuing to improve the quality of her performance and her expression (which has always been one of her best features). Maybe it will make a reappearance after the JGPF when she's had more time to work on it but if not that's also fine, there's no need to rush things.

I'm also going to make a confession. I really doubted her short program when we first saw it at JGP Canada. I understood that they were trying to challenge her and stretch her artistically but I thought it was a step too far out of her comfort zone. Seeing her performance of it a few days ago I can confidently say I had underestimated Nastya. This program is so much better than I thought it would ever be and I can't wait to see what it will be like by the end of the season (hopefully at Junior Worlds but otherwise at Russian Cup or another domestic competition - preferably with good quality lighting and very good camera work so I can rewatch it again and again!)

I noticed in the FS planned content she was meant to do a 2Lo on the end of 3F. It's a very clever way to optimise points and I think the first time she's had a planned loop combo - please correct me if I'm wrong - obviously we've seen her land 3Lz-3Lo in practice but I wonder if this is a way of gradually working in the idea of a loop combo in her FS. I also love her chsq in the free, it makes me sad that we'll only see it two or three times this season. It's so creative and complex: spiral into twizzles into knee slide - it's more than some ice dancers do! Also good to see her get level four on all the non jump elements in her free.

Overall I'm really happy with her trajectory this season and hope things continue in this direction!

Wow...she just uses so many subtle and powerful steps and turns. This FS is a very well rounded effort and you can see her growth but she never loses her identity. I’m diggin the split jump into flying spin. The height she gets into the spin is impressive.

Absolutely excellent use of SS as transitions out of her jumps.

Londa's fashion show..

BTW am I the only one or did Nastya look much better in SP without such a heavy make-up as in GP? :scratch2:

I completely agree, esp. the lipstick was too much for 14 y.o. girl in my view.
