Have you seen it?
Have you seen it?
Yes, I have. I can‘t even say or describe properly what it is that bothered me at the first glance. It‘s beautiful, Nastya is beautiful and it matches the SP theme really well. Now that I’ve looked at it again... It‘s actually what I expect a tango dress to look like. Maybe I was just surprised. I really don’t know. I‘m excited to see it in motion, though! Will she have another dress for the FS as well?

I am surprised she gets ridiculed for her name. Russians may have issues with it because of the literal meaning and historical associations, but imho as a non-russian "Anastasia Tarakanova" is the most charismatic sounding name in the entire current ladies' field.

Why so sad, Plushyfan?
I really enjoyed Nastaya's skate today! Her new costume is beautiful (I like how it goes black down the bottom and matches the gloves!) and Ted was super impressed by how she saved some of her jumpsI can't wait for the Moonlight Sonata FS!
I guess it'll be hard for her to get onto the podium, I hope she can still be proud of her skating though.
I'm not Plushyfan but I know I'm quite sad for Nastya today. This was probably her last chance to get a very high SB (would have to be 198+) in order to go senior next year and it's going to be pretty much impossible now with such a low score in the SP (this is her lowest SP score all season!). She would have to land a quad (and fully rotate it) in order to get a big enough FS score to make up for it. Of course it won't be the end of the world to stay on the JGP one more year but still.
Also I just don't like to see her look so sad the Kiss and Cry....
Oh I see! I didn't realise that about her score in the scheme of things. Being a ladies figure skater in Russia is tough! Are there no other competitions she can go to after this one - aside from Nationals?
(Also does that mean if a Russian girl doesn't get 198+ in their last eligible year as a Junior they can never go Senior? Harsh!)
Perhaps staying in Juniors wouldn't be the worst? The 3A (Alena, Alexandra and Anna) are sure to take the Senior circuit by storm next year so perhaps Nastya can make a bigger impact if she comes in a season later after the bruhaha has died down a bit.
She did look sad after the skate, but nowhere near as sad as in the last JGP event (or was it the Canadian one? I can't remember!) when she practically burst into tears. The Junior Ladies do get tomorrow off so here's hoping she can regroup for a fantastic Moonlight Sonata!
I haven‘t seen it yet but there‘s lots of sadness in here. I hope she can come back in the FS. And even if she stays in juniors next year, she‘ll have the best chance to get send to Worlds and medal there. In seniors, she might be a bit overshadowed by the 3A. Next year she can leave her mark in juniors and then go seniors with a great reputation and possibly a world/jgpf medal. Oh, Nastya...I haven‘t seen it yet but there‘s lots of sadness in here.
