Andrei Mozalev

From Maria Evstigneeva, costume designer:

Andrei Mozalev @mozalev_andrei has a "two-part" program this season, which was a lot of work for everyone - Andrei, director Denis Lunin, @denis_lunin_coach and coach Kirill Davydenko, @davydenko__kirill and me too.

At first Andrei and coaches wanted one costume for two programs, but to change something in it. They gave me a direction to think about - "a book and wings". But in the process of creation I decided that it would be better to sew two costumes, which will be connected with each other. The first costume says "Volume 1" and the second says "Volume 2". Both are hand-painted by me.

At the end of the short Andrew closes, "hides" his wings and "turns" into a book to continue the story. And in the short one he tells his story.

Very happy that the first start of the season brought Andrei a bronze medal. Good luck to him 🥳

Russian figure skater Andrei Mozalev told in an interview to "SE" what competitions he plans to compete in after the first stage of the "Russian Grand Prix".

- Now you're coming home - what's the plan? To rest, to put your thoughts in order or to work right away?

- I always have a day off after the competition to distract myself, switch and rest. And then to work and work, of course. I will be skating at the second stage of the St. Petersburg Cup.

- You have just a tennis schedule, tournament after tournament.

- Yeah, every week. You just have to roll out programs over and over again at competitions. The more starts, the sooner I'll get used to this condition.

- And people will finally understand what you wanted to show in the programs.

- Yeah, and the programs will open up, of course.

Ufa. Free program :ghug:

But it's a bronze medal, so he did pretty well overall.

Today's diamond skating SP!
Andrei has been going to the competition every week for the third week in a row.
Maybe he really needed to feel his legs and get used to this atmosphere?

We wish you a clean FS skate!

World Junior Champion and bronze medalist of the Russian Championship in men's singles skating Andrei Mozalev commented on the second stage of the St. Petersburg Cup. The athlete scored 101.47 points for his performance.

"I approached the skating calmly. I have just recently arrived from the Russian Grand Prix in Ufa, and these competitions are like a control skating for me. Still, it was a home competition, where I train all the time, it was like a training roll. I could have done a better axel, I messed up the step sequence a little bit, they put the second level instead of the fourth. It was more because I needed to sharpen my skates, and I just came from the stage and didn't want to go before this start. Tomorrow I will sharpen my skates right after the free skate, the steps will be clearer.

I've already had 100 points before, last season at the First Channel Cup, where I scored 104 points. I will prepare here, on the same ice, calmly, without hurry. In principle, I'm ready, I just need to get my head together. Non-stop competitions - is it hard? Physically - hard, morally it gets easier and easier every time. How do you recover? I go to the banya every week, I have it on Saturday. I love banya, it saves me, massage, recovery procedures, we have a lot of them. But the banya is the best, it's irreplaceable.

Do I like the idea of connecting the plot of the two programs? Of course I like it, I wouldn't skate if I didn't like it. The music was suggested by the coaches, the idea, the whole story, the libretto was thought up by my fan-group," - the words of Mozalev are transmitted by the correspondent of "Championship" Anastasia Matrosova.

So it seems he himself sees it necessary to compete more, that would mean he attributes any problems more to nerves and has no injury issues? Or does he just get money for starting?

It was Andrei's choice, he thinks he doesn't get enough practice at competitions rather than training. Of course, he works with psychology, but mechanics and physiology too. As for the prize fund, I don't think it attracts the attention of skaters of this level. It's more like a small bonus.

Russian athletes are deprived of many second-level starts, where they could show themselves and practice skating they programs. It is good that he is taking advantage of his opportunities.

Andrei is gaining such a good physical shape this year as in no season before. That's probably why he is performing better than in the same month of all 3 previous seasons.

Is it really two programs without gross mistakes, I can't believe my eyes?!

Russian figure skater Andrei Mozalev commented on his victory at the second stage of the St. Petersburg Cup. The athlete scored 284.29 points.

"Not everything turned out as planned. It was hard due to the fact that the third start in a row. Mentally it's not hard, more like physically. I think that for the third start in a row I performed well.

Have there been periods with such frequent competitions before? It wasn't like this every week. In my last junior season, when I won the Junior World Cup, there were competitions almost every two weeks. It's easier, because you have time to get away, to rest a little bit. You don't have time to reel something in and train. When you compete every week, you don't have time to get away from the previous start, and the next one is already there. It's much harder.

Tomorrow is not a day off, tomorrow is for training. The day after tomorrow is a day off, and tomorrow, of course, not at full strength, it will be a rest day, but still I will come to train. Are there any plans for complications? I think there will be no complications this season, I have to roll out this content, until I roll it out, there is no sense to complicate it.

Did the special cold on the rink affect the rolling itself? Of course, you can feel the difference. The ice feels different. I went out to practice in the morning and, frankly speaking, I didn't expect it. Everyone was in the same conditions, in principle, it seemed good, I thought it would be worse," said Mozalev in a conversation with the correspondent of "Championship" Anastasia Matrosova.

Shooting FS from a different angle in 4K.
And another one, very beautiful.

I really hope that Andrei's successful rolling at the 2nd stage of the St. Petersburg Cup was filmed by at least one fan with a good camera. I want to get good videos.
