Anime series Medalist

As the CD/DVD with Bow and Arrow / Plazma was released today, an interview with Kenshi Yonezu was published today in which he is talking, among other things, about how and why he got involved with The Medalist, why he fell in love with the manga, and later with the anime, what it all meant to him in this point in life, on his collaboration with Yuzuru, etc. Very interesting. In Japanese but you can use an online translation tool :)

I love the way he describes the sensations of skating, sound and breath etc. His respect for Yuzuru is so clear (is is every artist lucky enough to work with him).

Akiko Suzuki and Rika Hongo invite us to watch Medalist Season 2 starting in January!
Rika joined Akiko to work on choreography and motion captures for this season.

And as we are heading into Season 2, the Bow and Arrow anniversary is being celebrated...

... and the question of Jun Yodaka comes back urgent as ever: is he? Or is he not? Lol.;)

I know Medalist is based on the manga but Season 2 Episode 5, up just after the Olympics, feels strangely up-to-date with Jun Yodaka commenting on backflips of all possible on-ice movements , plus other funny shenanigans :) . Go, enjoy!

“Mr. Cukaso… if I told you I want to be the best in the world, would you help me?” 🏆 And so begins the life story of a girl named Inori, who is striving on her own to become a figure skater. ⛸️ The manga *Medalist* is about the desire and determination to achieve great success in figure skating!
