Anna-Flora finished 19th out of 27 in the SP, with a score of 38.93.

Watching Anna-Flora's SP brought back a lot of memories. It was as if we had gone back in a time machine and were watching Leonora. And I don't just mean because Anna-Flora looks like her sister. That was just the sort of programme Leonora would have done. Which is perhaps unsurprising - she choreographed it!

Anna-Flora has grown up a lot since I last saw her. But she seems to be adapting well to her new body. Apart from a popped axel, there weren't any major issues.

Anna-Flora is just 0.55 points behind her Nordic neighbour, Mia Caroline Risa Gomez of Norway. But, she is also just 1.87 points ahead of Bagdana Rakhishova of Kazakhstan. If she puts in a really good FS, it is possible to climb up a few places. But, if everybody in the FS goes similar to what they did in the SP, then 18th is most likely the best she could finish.

:cheer: WELL DONE ANNA-FLORA!!! :cheer:

The Junior Ladies FS is due to start at 13:20:00 CEST (11:20:00 GMT / 12:20:00 BST). So 5 hours from now.

Anna-Flora will be the 9th skater to start. So, fourth skater in Group 2 (and penultimate skater before the resurfacing).

She is due to start at 14:30:20 CEST (12:30:20 GMT / 13:30:20 BST). So 5h 50m from now.

Took a while, but I've now got the Ladies FS finished.

Anna-Flora finished 17th out of 27 in the FS, with a score of 76.37. This meant that she climbed to 18th place overall, with a score of 115.30.

Both her FS score and overall score were absolute PB's, eclipsing what she achieved at the 2020 HSK Cup by quite a margin (by 11.52 for the FS, and by 8.31 for the overall).

Beautiful. Just beautiful. There are no other words for this programme.

And Ted was pretty much of the same opinion. I lost count of the number of times he said "beautiful". :)

The skating was just sublime. It was mesmerising. Yes, there were a couple of mistakes that I noticed - a hand down on the double axel and some clumsy footwork on the double lutz-loop combo. But, the rest was so good that they were quickly forgotten about.

You could see that Anna-Flora was feeling the music the whole way through. So, as well as congratulating Anna-Flora on performing it so well, I want to say well done to Leonora for being able to put together a programme that was just perfect for her sister. It's not often you se a skater conenct so intimately with their programme. But Anna-Flora did.

I love Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2 at the best of times. But what I particularly loved about Anna-Flora's programme is that it used a different section of the piece (the second movement) to what is usually used as skating music (the first movement). It's not that I dislike the normal cut; far from it - I love it! but I just love the way that Anna-Flora's programme is letting skating fans hear that there is more to the concerto than the first 10 minutes. (And that it enlightens people about the origins of the song "All By Myself", originally recorded by it's writer Eric Carmen in 1975, but famously covered by CĂ©line Dion in 1996).

With the way the results of the SP were, I was predicting it to be a battle between the Nordic neighbours over 18th position. And whilst Anna-Flora did get 18th overall, it was actually because somebody further up the table dropped down. Mia Caroline Risa Gomez (NOR) and Anna-Flora were practically inseparable in the SP (Mia Caroline ahead by 0.55 points), and they were practically inseparable again in the FS (Mia Caroline ahead by 0.35 points). In the end, Anna Flora finished 0.90 behind Mia Caroline Risa Gomez, and 0.53 ahead of the skater that had dropped down, Ellen Slavíčková (CZE).

I really hope we get to see Anna-Flora a lot this season. Because these programmes are really, really good and deserve to be seen by as many people as possible.

:cheer: WELL DONE ANNA-FLORA!!! :cheer:

Anna-Flora finished 10th out of 17 in the SP, with a score of 39.55.

I actually posted two comments about Anna-Flora in the competition thread. Here is the first one, posted during the Group 2 Warm-Up:

Now, that was interesting. When the skaters were introduced at the start of the Group 2 Warm-Up, there was a big cheer went up when the French skater, Emma Hiadlovska. As you would expect.

But, there was also a big cheer went up for my kid, Anna-Flora Colmor Jepsen (DEN)!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

There are 2 Danish skaters going in the final group later on. And another Danish skater in the Senior Men later in the week. So, maybe they and their team are currently sitting in the audience.

Or, maybe Anna-Flora does have a big support base!!!

CaroLiza_fan

And here is the second, posted after her Short Programme:

LEONORA IS WITH HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

And such a big hug they had when Anna-Flora came off the ice!

Well, Anna-Flora certainly did have a lot of support from the audience. There were big cheers after every jump she did.

There was only one mistake that was obvious to me. But, she got encouragement after it as well.

All in all, a good skate.

She splits the Czech skaters by going into 4th.

:cheer: WELL DONE ANNA-FLORA!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

The mistake I spotted sticks out like a sore thumb when you look at the protocols. She singled out her Axel, thus invalidating it.

Apart from that, nothing major. Three judges gave her minuses for her final element, the Change Foot Combination Spin. And one judge gave her a minus on the Step Sequence before it. But, that was it.

Part of what I said yesterday at the time still holds - Anna-Flora is still 0.73 points ahead of Czech skater Michaela VraĆĄĆ„ĂĄkovĂĄ. But, a few more skaters have slotted in between Anna-Flora and the other Czech skater, so it is now Viola Fois (ITA) that is one place and 0.45 points ahead of her.

This is a very close field. And Anna-Flora is right in the middle of it. 11 points more takes you to 2nd place. 12 points less takes you to last place. Literally anything can happen in the Free Skate.

So, hopefully Anna-Flora will have agood FS and will climb up places!

:cheer: WELL DONE ANNA-FLORA!!! :cheer:

The Junior Ladies FS is due to start at 15:05:00 CEST (13:05:00 GMT / 14:05:00 BST). So 6 hours from now.

Anna-Flora will be the 8th skater to start. So, third skater in Group 2.

The Group 2 Warm-Up is due to start at 15:46:30 CEST (13:46:30 GMT / 14:46:30 BST). So 6h 41m from now.

Anna-Flora is due to start at 16:07:00 CEST (14:07:00 GMT / 15:07:00 BST). So 7h 2m from now.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before them withdraws.

Anna-Flora finished 11th out of 21 in the SP, with a score of 38.76.

Although I didn't get to watch LIVE, I watched Anna-Flora on the archived video of her group today (I have to say, I like the way that the Danish Federation have a separate video for each group). And, I have to be honest, I can't really understand why Anna-Flora is down in 11th position. Because her performance looked good to me.

I admit that she didn't have a great landing on the Double Axel. Understandably, it got downgraded and given minus GOE. But for all the judges to give her -5 on it was very harsh. Excessively so, I would say. You normally only see -5's all round when the skater falls. And she didn't.

The irony is that that Double Axel also got credit for being in the second half of the programme!

Apart from a +3 from Judge 2 for her Double Flip, all the other judges marks were in the -1 to +1 range.

Anna-Flora is currently 1.84 points behind 10th position, JĂșlĂa RĂłs VIÐARSDÓTTIR (ISL), and 0.55 points ahead of 12th position, Kaia KLEVEN (NOR). The good news is that ViĂ°arsdĂłttir is at the bottom of a close group that stretches all the way up to 5th position, Rosa REPONEN (FIN), who is 4.27 points ahead of Anna-Flora. The problem is that Anna-Flora is actually at the top of a very tight group where 5 skaters are covered by 1.22 points. And if you take it further, the skater in 18th position, Selma HELLSTRÖM (SWE), is only 4.17 points behind Anna-Flora. So, although there is potential for her to move up considerably, she could easily move down considerably too.

All of which means that she will have to put in a very good Free Skate. Especially since the Judges seem to be marking hard.

:cheer: WELL DONE ANNA-FLORA!!! :cheer:

Anna-Flora finished 29th out of 49 in the SP, with a score of 40.49.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread at the time:

Beautiful blue dress with a black vest top on top. It shouldn't work, but boys it does!

Oh, it's not the song I thought it was.

Very long intoduction before she started skating. I hope there isn't anything in the rules against that.

Not great landing on the Double Axel. And lost her grip on the Flying Camel Spin.

Strange choreography at the change in music with her practically sitting down. Big sister Leonora is being imaginative!

And was that another sit down or a fall at the very end? It's hard to know now after sitting down earlier.

I LOVE THIS PROGRAMME!!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

Ach, I was hoping that Leonora would be sitting with her, so that you can see just how alike they are!

Into 4th?! Mmmm. There must have been some very good skates amonst the ones that I missed.

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

I know I am biased, but that was one of the best programmes I have seen so far this season. Leonora has really out-done herself with this programme. I was impressed with what she came up with last season, but this is just a totally different level. I can tell you something: it won't be long until she is choreographing programmes for more than just her sister. Because that programme is going to raise a lot of eyebrows. I can't wait to see what she has come up with for the Free Skate!

But, getting back to Anna-Flora, she is like a totally different skater to what we saw last season. She was full of confidence when doing her SP. Then again, I suppose you have to have that air of confidence about you if you are going to sit down in the middle of the programme, as otherwise the Judges will just see it as a fall!

The opening combination, the Triple Toe-Double Toe, was just beautiful. And this was reflected in the Protocols, where there were no minuses for it.

The same cannot be said for the second element, the Double Axel. As I said at the time, Anna-Flora had a really dodgy landing, and only landed on the quarter. Consequently, it was minus marks from all the Judges, and -1.56 in GOE. This made it the costliest element of the programme.

The Sit Spin was exquisite. She even did a fancy way of getting out of it. She got all positive marks from the Judges for it, and positive GOE. But, I couldn't help being disappointed that they weren't higher. Surely something that nice deserves better than +0.39 in GOE and a highest Judges mark of +2!

The wobble and losing her grip in the Flying Camel Spin did prove costly. Only Judge 4 gave her a positive mark (+2), and Judge 2 gave her 0. Everybody else went negative. She also got -0.36 in GOE.

The Double Loop was OK. And she got extra credit for doing it in the second half of the programme. And the Change Foot Combination Spin also looked good. Both these elements had no minuses.

But, then we come to the final element, the Step Sequence. And the marking of this was very interesting, because it looks like the Judges didn't count the fall as part of the element. Granted, everything was negative (including -1.04 in GOE), but only Judges 2 and 5 gave her the full -5. Five of the Judges gave her -4, while Judge 1 gave her -3 and Judge 3 gave her -2. Anna-Flora went off balance a couple of times during the Step Sequence, and I am wondering if that was what the Judges were responding to rather than the fall.

After seeing it again, it was definitely a fall rather than a sit down. She had bent over to far on the final swing of her leg, and had to put her hand down. But, when she was straightening up, she tried to turn and her toepick got caught. And down she went, in time with the music ending. The funny thing about it is that she couldn't have done it so perfectly in time if she had tried!

And her face was priceless when she got up! It was a "I've been good. Nothing's happened" face. And as she was coming off the ice, she was laughing at herself for finishing like that. It was just so endearing.

It says everything that Ted and Mark were talking about Anna-Flora's programme during the Group 3 Warm-Up of the Men's SP, a full 10 hours after she skated. That was how much of an impression that she left on them.

Anna-Flora is currently 0.77 points behind 28th position, Wiktoria MALYNIAK (POL), and 0.83 points ahead of 30th position, Sabina ALIEVA (AZE). All three are part of a larger group that stretches from Alexa SEVERN (GBR) in 23rd position, 4.04 points ahead of Anna-Flora, down to Olesja LEONOVA (EST) in 40th position, 6.79 points behind Anna-Flora

All of which means that there is a LOT of potential for movement within this group. So, Anna-Flora would need to put in another great performance to make sure that she moves up rather than down.

:cheer: WELL DONE ANNA-FLORA!!! :cheer:

The Junior Ladies FS is due to start today at 15:00:00 CEST (13:00:00 GMT / 14:00:00 BST). So 8 hours from now.

The Group 5 Warm-Up is due to start at 18:12:00 CEST (16:12:00 GMT / 17:12:00 BST). So 11h 12m from now.

Anna-Flora finished 36th out of 49 in the FS, with a score of 65.01. This meant that she dropped to 32nd place overall, with a score of 105.50.

Unfortunately, I was eating at the time that Anna-Flora was doing her Free Skate, so I did not get watching her LIVE. However, I did subsequently catch up on her skate.

First thing's first, I should point out that although Anna-Flora was skating to Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto Number 2, it was not the First Movement that normally gets skated to. It was the Second Movement, i.e. the part that the song "All By Myself" (famously recorded by CĂ©line Dion) is based on.

I have to admit, her dress puzzled me. It had a wild pattern. But, it was mainly grey, with bits of black and white. It had the potential to be really exciting, but the lack of colour made it boring. One thing that I noticed when she was in position waiting to start was that there was what looked like an eye in a very inopportune position. And unfortunately, there's nothing that can be done about it short of changing the dress.

I just had a thought - I wonder if the dress was grey as a nod to the black-and-white film "Brief Encounter" (1945), which featured Rachmaninov #2 heavily. Hey, it might actually be Eileen Joyce's performance of it from the film that is being skated to.

I will not go through how Anna-Flora got on with individual elements, because it will be too depressing for a Fan Fest. Suffice to say, it did not go well. For the first two-thirds of the programme, her elements alternated between green and red. But, unfortunately, the reds were big negatives, and the greens were only small positives. After that, it was all red. And she even had her Choreographic Sequence invalidated.

On the plus side, she had no falls.

Ted and Mark did not dwell on the mistakes either during the highlights. Instead, they talked about how good her SP was, and how good this FS will be when it is done clean. They were particularly impressed with her imterpretation.

Gaaaahhhhh!!!! Mark guessed that Leonora is Anna-Flora's mother!!! :bang: :bang: :bang:

NO!!! SHE'S HER BIG SISTER!!! :palmf:

And I'm surprised that Ted didn't realise, because he commentated on Leonora's skating when she was on the Junior GP circuit a few years ago. Mind you, with how good the choreography she has come up with is, you could be forgiven for thinking that Leonora has more years of experience behind her than she does.

Anna-Flora finished the Free Skate 0.03 points behind 35th position, Wiktoria MAƁYNIAK (POL), and 1.05 points ahead of 37th position, Sabina ALIEVA (AZE). They were part of a larger group where 9 skaters were covered by 5.07 points, from Celia Vandhana GARNACHO (ESP) in 31st position, 3.20 points ahead of Anna-Flora, to Olesja LEONOVA (EST) in 39th position, 1.87 points behind Anna-Flora.

Overall, Anna-Flora finished 0.80 points behind 31st position, MaƂyniak, and 0.50 points ahead of 33rd position, Andrea ASTRAIN MAYNEZ (MEX).

Although it did not go well this week, I am really looking forward to seeing this programme when it is done cleanly. And I really hope that happens in her appearance at the final Junior GP in Italy, so that Ted and Mark see it.

All in all, I am predicting a very good season for Anna-Flora. She is become such a mature skater for somebody so young and, thanks to her sister, she has 2 very good programmes to show it off in.

:cheer: WELL DONE ANNA-FLORA!!! :cheer:

Anna-Flora finished 23rd out of 44 in the SP, with a score of 43.58.

Analysis to be edited in when I get the chance to re-watch the programme with the protocols.

Anna-Flora is currently 0.27 points behind 22nd position, Julija LOVRENČIČ (SVN), and 0.33 points ahead of 24th position, Anastasiia VASYLCHENKO (UKR). All three are part of a larger group where 15 skaters were covered by 7.45 points, from Livia KAISER (CHE) in 21st position, 1.20 points ahead of Anna-Flora, down to Ivona KLEUT (SRB) in 35th position, 6.25 points behind Anna-Flora.

All of which means that there is a LOT of potential for movement within this group. So, Anna-Flora would need to put in a good performance to make sure that she moves up rather than down.

Anna-Flora finished 30th out of 44 in the FS, with a score of 70.05. This meant that she dropped to 29th place overall, with a score of 113.63.

I haven't watched her programme yet (I was planning on watching the whole of the Egna Ladies FS today, but then discovered that the Trophée Métropole Nice CÎte D'Azur starts today, not tomorrow as I thought).

Analysis to be edited in after I watch the programme (which will hopefully be later this morning, but will probably be tomorrow morning).

Anna-Flora finished the Free Skate 0.39 points behind 29th position, Ceren KARAƞ (TUR), and 1.57 points ahead of 31st position, Nuria RODRIGUEZ SERRANO (ESP).

Overall, Anna-Flora finished 0.70 points behind 28th position, Oda Tþnnesen HAVGAR (NOR), and 6.73 points ahead of 30th position, Stella MAKRI (GRE). Anna-Flora was at the bottom of a group of 5 skaters covered by 3.28 points, which stretched up to Julija LOVRENČIČ (SVN) in 25th position.

Sorry for the rather late post. I didn't notice that she was competing at the Volvo Open in Riga, Latvia, until there now.

The Junior Ladies SP is due to start today at 09:30:00 EEST (07:30:00 GMT / 08:30:00 CET). So 1 hour from now.

Anna-Flora will be the 2nd skater to start. So, second skater to go in Group 1.

And that is as much as I can say, because the link to the Time Schedule PDF is taking us to a 404 error page.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Volvo Open Cup Junior Ladies SP: Results; Protocols

No video uploaded yet 😞

Anna-Flora finished 4th out of 23 in the SP, with a score of 44.94.

Unfortunately, the livestream started broadcasting late, and only came on air during the highlights of Skater #4. And since Anna-Flora was starting at #2, that meant that her programme did not get broadcast. Which is a particular pity, because there is a lot of confusion over how she got on.

There was no livescoring. When I looked at the results page a few hours after the segment finished, it said that Anna-Flora was in last position, with a score of 22.something. But when I came back this morning to make out this reminder post, she was in 4th position with a score that was double what she previously had.

The Starting Order for the FS was made out when she was still in last position. And although her score and position has been corrected on the Time Schedule PDF for the FS, it still has her down to be the first to skate. BUT, the livescoring page has her down as being the 20th to skate.

So, I don't know what is going on.

Anyway, Anna-Flora is currently 2.40 points behind 3rd position, Anna SHENIUK (ISR), and 0.30 points ahead of 5th position, Lotta ARTIMO (FIN).

We currently have a Finnish 1-2. It is probably too big an ask for Anna-Flora to catch the leader, Petra LAHTI, as she is 6.57 points ahead of her. But Pihla BERGMAN in 2nd position is within striking distance, being only 2.84 points ahead of Anna-Flora.

On the other hand, Anna-Flora has to be wary of threats from behind. Selin AKBULUT (TUR) in 6th position is only 2.10 points behind her. And 7th position, Taisiia SPESIVTSEVA (UKR) is not only just 4.31 points behind Anna-Flora, but is at the head of a group of 7 skaters covered by 4.24 points.

So, Anna-Flora will have to put in a good FS not just to try to get onto the podium, but also to avoid potentially getting gobbled up by this group.

:cheer: WELL DONE ANNA-FLORA!!! :cheer:

The Junior Ladies FS is due to start at 08:00:00 EET (06:00:00 GMT / 07:00:00 CET). So 30 minutes from now.

Anna-Flora will be the 1st skater to start. So, first skater in Group 1.

The Group 1 Warm-Up is due to start at 08:00:00 EET (06:00:00 GMT / 07:00:00 CET). So 30 minutes from now.

Anna-Flora is due to start at 08:06:30 EET (06:06:30 GMT / 07:06:30 CET). So 36 minutes from now.

But, those times may change if they correct the start order.
