Anna Shcherbakova

These games as a whole were an unmitigated disaster...a complete travesty...but thank god for Anna. She is such a bright spot in this sport. Always showing up when it matters, and so diplomatic even when she has to deal with the scummy media. She will be such a great champion.
Definitely. Anna has show, over the years, the determination of a true competitor, fighting over the adversity when the expectations were favoring the others. No one has give her this gold, she has take it with all her strengths. She is the deserved olympic champion.

Congrats to Anna!!! I have not been able to watch any of the performances yet, but so proud of her for fighting until the end and putting on her best performance with all the horrible drama going on behind the scenes. We’ve all said before that Anna is mentally very strong, and she proved that yet again today. I was also very pleased to see the lovely, supportive post from Aliona congratulating Anna. I hope Anna will enjoy the rest of her Olympic experience despite everything else that has happened, and that she will receive the proper congratulations and support both at the Olympics and when she returns home.

I want to congratulate the wonderful Anna purely for her skating. :points: Which I love. Flying right past me unheeded are the comments of some about this or that item of technique. I don't care. She skates, she communicates something from the heart with her skating, she shares her feelings and her absolutely gorgeous skating with all audiences.❤️ She makes artistry and athleticism into one. She's really a miracle.

(Not least is her wise comment: "I skate, and others judge.")

I can't figure out why Anna had 3 coaches at the boards, but not one of them thought to be with her in the moment that she won the Olympic Gold Medal. That should have been a moment to celebrate with someone beside her, no matter the rest of it.

Even that, though, Anna was able to rise above. I had an early appointment and left right after the skating, so I haven't seen the medal ceremony yet, but I'm so happy for the pictures in this thread that show that she was able to experience her joy. She is a real triumph today, in so many ways!

simple - coaches are not allowed in that room where the skaters that are in 1-3 positions wait for the last one to finish (same reason why Alina was sitting alone with Satoko & Kaitlyn in 2018)

Okay, so why weren't Sasha and Kaori in the room with her? they were all in the 1-3 positions, weren't they? And ... thank you for your answer:)

they were, while Kamila was skating; and after that they went out (Kaori came back first; Sasha did too, later - after the coaches persuaded her to attend the vc - you can see it here in the end; Dudakov only looks inside, without stepping in)

Also Sofia Akateva sends her congrats and support to Anna and other girls:

Words from Adelina:

I'm extremely happy for @anna__shcherbakova_ For two days in a row, a person did everything that depends on himself, she showed great skating, good jumping elements, Anya, welcome to the club of Olympic champions 😊💪🏽❤️ more - more 💪🏽 I also want to congratulate @avtrusova her jumps are space, take off like a rocket and go straight into space, the first girl in history to show such a number of 4 jumps. Sasha, everything is ahead, everything is just beginning, if there was such an opportunity, I would give you all gold medals ... but this is a sport, you have to accept it as it is and work on ... I enjoy skating and jumping @kamilavalieva26 I don’t know how she survived everything that happened to her ... I’m very sorry that such problems were put on a little girl ... baby, you proved to everyone that under any circumstances, in any condition you will come out and fight to the end! You are the hero of our time! Hold on! The whole country is for you and with you! You are in our hearts ❤️❤️❤️ Our golden girls 🥇🥇🥇 You are beautiful, young, please us further 🙏🏼👏🏽🤞🏽❤️

I am so happy for Anna, what a journey! To think that this season started with the Budapest Trophy... But no matter what, when it matters the most, she delivered two wonderful programs ❤️ And everything happening around her made me think of the saying "After everything is said and done, a hell of a lot more is said than done." Well, Anna has definitely done it! :hap10::jump::yahoo:

I couldn't watch it live, but as I was driving to work this morning, I couldn't shake the feeling that Anna was going to win, Kaori and Sasha were going to be on the podium with her and Kamila would be 4th. It was so weird and I was sure I was crazy.

But I wasn't! Many congratulations to Anna, a well deserved winner.
