I want to congratulate the wonderful Anna purely for her skating.

Which I love. Flying right past me unheeded are the comments of some about this or that item of technique. I don't care. She skates, she communicates something from the heart with her skating, she shares her feelings and her absolutely gorgeous skating with all audiences.

She makes artistry and athleticism into one. She's really a miracle.
(Not least is her wise comment: "I skate, and others judge.")
I can't figure out why Anna had 3 coaches at the boards, but not one of them thought to be with her in the moment that she won the Olympic Gold Medal. That should have been a moment to celebrate with someone beside her, no matter the rest of it.
Even that, though, Anna was able to rise above. I had an early appointment and left right after the skating, so I haven't seen the medal ceremony yet, but I'm so happy for the pictures in this thread that show that she was able to experience her joy. She is a real triumph today, in so many ways!
