Anthony Paradis

2 things

so happy for you anthony to be proud of yourself before your SP. It's important to acknowledge your own work/process. Results are nice but shouldn't be the focus.

also : yes... thanks for thanking the crowd ! yes we were insane :)

I would love to reassure Anthony that his English is excellent and he has no need to fear speaking with his Anglophone fans🙂

But the bracelet idea is sweet anyway.

I think that compared to kids his age from where he is from, he needs better vocabulary, and that may be why he feels like this : it's okay for him to get his idea across very easily in his vlogs but when meeting people in real life, it is harder. I understand where he is coming from. It took me a while to include a variety of ways to express myself more precisely. I think that's why he is using a lot of colloquial/swearing idioms as that what he's heard around him (American reality shows for instance) .

When I was a kid, English as a second language was taught like French. Huge emphasis on grammar and writing/reading. That worked out fine for me later in life as I needed to write in English, but it is not conducive to maintaining interesting conversations. I don't know if students nowadays have to express themselves more in English, converse, etc... We certainly didn't have to in order to get good grades.

I'm glad that the tears were saying good bye to the program, rather than upset over his performance.

He still brought what makes Anthony Anthony. :)

Canada's Anthony Paradis is now in his final season as a junior and recently took the bronze medal 🥉 at Cranberry Cup. Since last season, he feels he has transformed from a self-described “messy skater” into a more consistent, technically secure competitor, while learning to embrace competition nerves. Learn more about Paradis—both on and off the ice!

Teaser 😉: He talks about a costume transformation in his free skate over the season ;) ☁️🌩️

Did you see his programs from Cranberry Cup? What do you think about him sticking with the short program from last season? Do you like it? What are your thoughts on the new free skate?

A twelve minute video from Anthony about the making of his LP. He talks about what he wanted from his costume (wet) and how he chose the music (skaters have had the fear of god put into them about copyright and his best friend introduced him to classical) and working with David Wilson. I thought it was really interesting that he had the story first and then chose the music.

I must confess, Auntie El found this far more interesting than adventures with my 17 year old pals. But I realize the skaters are not making vlogs for me. :)
