Any Sasha updates?

Has she added a lutz or flip to this :

If so, it looks like a good program.

That video is from a year ago but I would assume her tendonitis has prevented her from doing flip and lutz at least for a period of time. That is a nice program, but she reminds me so much of Caroline. Sasha is very slow and does the subtle hand movements like Caroline and her jumps look like Caroline's too. She only did a few jumps in that program though so in that aspect her skating is still truly a mystery. I guess we will just have to wait and see (or not).

and as this is her planned Freeskate she will have to add more than one lutz and one flip.

I have yet to see a program where Caroline skates with that kind of emotion and attention to every note. I thought that Caroline would develop it in time, but her expression has gotten worse, not better, she skates stony faced unless her jumps are 100% on and even then she cannot come close to Sasha in that department. In stretch yes, in expression, no way.

Sasha's expression is obviously much better it was more just the way she skates around the ice and uses her hands, and then obviously the flexibility. They have pretty similar builds as well.

Caroline has the stretch - but this season she has not held her positions or finished many of them very well. She has not looked polished or ready to compete.

There is really nothing in common with their skating but the flexibilty.

They are both beautiful skaters, that's what they have in common, beautiful balletic skaters with plenty of "IT" quality. :)

I just hope that Sasha does Nationals, at least tries, even if she has to take pain killers for her tendonitis (the same way Evgeni is doing for his knee).

What's that old saying ~ it's better to have tried & failed then never to have tried at all ~ otherwise she'll always be thinking back decades later "if only I had tried".

It is getting close enough that I am afraid to look at new messages here.;)

 I thought I was the only one feeling this way. When I see this near the top of the threads I start to get really anxious:p

I soooo hope she makes it to Nationals, even if its not a perfect performance I have always loved seeing her programs. I always looked forward to seeing what new programs Sasha & Michelle came up with each season. With other skaters its always hit or miss for me, but these 2 always had wonderful entertaining programs.

Hence Im sad we never saw Michelle's LP from the last Olympics or the LP she thought about using for this Olympics had she competed.

I think Sasha entering the fray would definately make Nationals more exciting & more unpredictable...if thats even possible:agree:

and Tinymavy15, I would never Rain On Your Parade ;)

and FYI I loved that performance from her

Not if USFS judges give her 80 points for the SP. (or even 70 for that matter)

But Sasha was always a masterful SP skater - one of the best in history.

Remember - CoP scoring is about reputation so Sasha deserves a very high score in her SP ;)

Well, the highest you can get on PCS in the short program is 40. That's straight tens across the board.

If Sasha got 80 on the SP, that means she also got a big whopping 40 on her technical elements -- so she deserves her first place position going into the LP.

Go Sasha!

I am dying to see Sasha's 2 new programs. Whether she can keep up technically with the other U.S. ladies remains to be seen but no matter where she places IMO Sasha will be the class of the field.

Sasha is in a class of her own. I don't think that there is an American female skater that has the presentation on the ice that Sasha has - everything seems effortless-even her jumps when she is spot on. Watching some of the other ladies-not mentioning any names- just trying to catch their leg up to do the spins, looks so painful and awkward. If Sasha is spot on, It's hers to lose.:)

Umm, three weeks until the ladies' event...

Seriously, Cohen fans should rejoice only if it's the day of the SP and she hasn't WD yet.
Red Dog, I don't understand what you mean by the quote. What does it have to do with her fans?? Why should they rejoice.. not understanding rejoice. I would love to see Sasha skate again but if she doesn't........ she doesn't. You seem to be the biggest fan because you're always commenting in everyone of the Sasha threads.

That's exactly how I feel, and what I miss from almost everyone skating right now. Though Michelle and Sasha are different in several fundamental ways, both of them really perform their programs, as dancers do, bringing the music alive. As I've said before (and I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noticed), with most skaters, we remember a good short or long program they skated for a specific event--for example, the 2005 Worlds. With Michelle especially, but also Sasha, we remember the program they skated to a certain piece of music. For that reason, something in me keeps hoping that Sasha will show up at Nationals, even if I risk disappointment.

 Well put.

Not in this era. Flutzy will be well scrutinized this time around, in case she is a show, which I highly doubt, btw
