Big days today and tomorrow

I'm taking wedding photos for family friends of ours... *sigh* last one I did came out really well... however it was in the SUMMER TIME so there was a lot of light... where as this evening wedding will be anything by lit well LOL

so pray my camera works awesomly(our flash died last night so we had to get a new one... 50 bucks later... )

...for great light and a flash that keeps working! I admire your courage - I would think as a photographer that weddings would be the most stressful thing to shoot. I hope it all goes smoothly for you!

I was shooting from 2:30pm till 10:30pm... CRAZY STUFF... got tons of pictures and lots of sore muscles and feet LOL
Tasha Grossl ( http://www.grosslphotography.com ) did the portraits, the wedding, some of the reception and some of the getting ready, but I didn't get a break as I was "hired" to be her go-for, which is fine because I love her and she's got 6 weeks before she has her baby so of course I'm happy to help! :lol I got a lot of great tips from her, and I have a huge list of new things I want! I also got some fun ideas for poses. She left halfway through the reception so I was basically on my own for that... and WHEW did I have a lot to do

It was fun though and the bride was gorgeous(she doesn't have to work hard in that area anyway ) and the Groom was quiet, which is unusual for him but all in all it was great. Though one of the groomsmen fainted onstage due to the heat from all of the candles (over 90 candles! ) But he's fine, the grooms dad(who was the best man) is a doctor so it was all good...

anyway, there's my report... have to download a buttload of digi pics today and fix them up so they look good and then I have to take my 13 rolls of film to be developed! *cross fingers* hopefully they all turn out awesome!

Sounds like you worked hard and have the feet to prove it LOL! But you sound very pumped so I bet all the pics will be great. You will have to share at least one "out take" with your pals here.

I hope you are able to get some R&R today (and of course, watch some skating!)

Toni, you are getting a lot of fine experience and training in photography lately. Is this a possible career choice for you?

People seem to faint at weddings a lot. At my neice's recent wedding one of the groomsmen fainted. I think that besides the heat and the excitement, it has to to with standing in one position for so long, the blood doesn't circulate to your head right, or something like that.

I was one of the examiners at a student's PhD oral exam last semester, and as soon as we asked the first question, the candidate fainted dead away. (He passed anyway, LOL, after he came to.)

Is this a possible career choice for you?

Yes, it is. I'm not sure if I want to totally ditch my TV dreams or not, but I do know that photography is really becoming important to me. Photo-journalism may be where I end up, however Iam not into really posing people, it's just not my strong point. I have learned a lot though this last wedding, but who knows.

I'd really like to still achieve my dream of working on an all figure skating TV network... who knows! LOL I have at least 4 years of school ahead of me anyway!

My son told me something about the fact that you need to have a knee or knees bent a little when standing so you won't faint. I have no idea why.

Yeah, but one of the videoer dudes caught it on tape and he was standing with knees bent

he said is was just really hot, and one of the other groomsmen and a bridesmaid said it was hot and that they were getting dizzy
