Brian Joubert

While Brian is in Japan for FaOI, here's a short clip (from a few weeks ago) of Brian talking about his 2007 World Title. It's part of French channel W9 program "Mon Trophée, Ma Victoire" (which means "My Trophy, My Victory") showing high-class French athletes talking about their most precous victory, while the clip show the moment wth snaps of the athletes talking.
Click here to watch it (I put the vimeo link, since the link to the French website may not work due to eventual regional restrictions)

Translation:
Voice-Off: "Now he's the figure skating world champion, something that last happened 42 years ago..."
Brian: "When I went on the ice, I felt ill. I barely slept the night before, I was so stressed for the World Champion title, I put a lot of pressure on myself. But this aside, I did want to give it all. So I went on the ice and I was like a warrior, a fighter. The quad was my first jump. It was an element I could do... but the cost for the slightest mistake is high. The biggest part was done, I knew I could do the rest of the program. I give it all, I felt good, I enjoyed every single moment, every second. That's all.
When I finish my program, I know I'm the world champion.
Once I go on the podium, I get the medal, the Marseillaise... really, it's such a good feeling. It's an unforgetable moment, the best to live.
This medal is very important because it doesn't represent just one competition... It's my whole life."

Brian is that kind of person who looks good with almost anything on. Yellow suits him

I don't understand why Brian deleted his Twitter? It is a good media to promote upcoming shows and appearances, he had so many followers. Now he hasn't got any channel to message with fans. You can't relay on a fan site to do all the work for you.

Wasn't his Twitter hacked a couple months ago? And before that there was an imposter representing himself (or herself?) as Brian. He was never a big social media user, so I can understand why he wouldn't want the hassle.

LMDJ does a pretty good job, I think, and there's also his "official" website but I don't visit that often enough to know how up-to-date it tends to be.

Yes, I remember the message about the hacking. I suppose it was just too much hassle to bother with after that - as you say, gallavich, he wasn't much for social media, anyway. As I recall, he started it in connection with the Dancing with the stars thing - maybe he'd have got more comfortable with it and used to it with time, but I suppose the hacking put the lid on that.

Brian's "Time To Say Goodbye" from FaOI Kobe:

I saw "Time To Say Goodbye" live at FaOI Kanazawa. The programs of Kanazawa were almost the same as Kobe. Brian’s "Time To Say Goodbye" was wonderful, and some audience mentioned it as one of the best performances of the show, although many great skaters appeared at the show. My heart was filled with Brian’s tender and soft expressions. I thought about various things in his single competitive skater's life history ... Love Brian. I want as many fans of him to watch this performance:).

From Marin's thread, Brian, Akiko, Haruka, Rika and Japanese little ladies (Marin, Wakaba and Miyu).

He is like a brother of them!. He was only one overseas skater at Nagaoka. He smiled during his performance to make all the crowd happy, and at finale, attentively supported other skaters:).

Thank you so much, hamaguri! It's always lovely to hear the impressions of someone who was actually there - it makes it all so vivid.:)

And the icenetwork article series "My first time" has a section about Brian and the quad:

How he landed it, though he hadn't even been training it.

Brian stayed Japan for the past 1 month and appeared on Ice shows in several cities. I loved him when he was competing, but never saw him live. This summer, I could see him live at some Ice shows for the first time, I came to love him more. He was much handsome than I'd watched him on TV. Further, his expression was delicate and elegant. And I was impressed with his personality.

This episode is a surprise! He had the enouth nerve to try quad without hesitation although he’d never practiced it:).
