Camille and Pavel finished 8th out of 16 in the SP, with a score of 58.25.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

Here is what I wrote when they were being introduced:

And here is what I wrote about the programme:

The first comment from other members came just after that, from @sissy7 who was watching the Eurosport coverage:

Polish member @Karoltyna was to the point:

Italian member @bartlebooth was both scared and impressed:

While fellow Italian @elektra blue was balanced in picking out things about the programme:

My fellow British member @FlossieH was concerned for Camille:

@Seven Sisters was happy with how they got on:

I know we are all expecting this to be their swansong season (especially with how Pavel has struggled to get through programmes for the past couple of years), but you never know.

German member @Jumping_Bean was also happy:

And Polish member @Ares was surprised:

@sissy7 was not impressed with how long it was taking the scores to come through:

And the final comment was another from @bartlebooth, who commented about the dynamics on the sofa:

Camille and Pavel are currently 1.15 points behind 7th position, Rebecca GHILARDI / Filippo AMBROSINI (ITA), and 0.80 points ahead of 9th position, Júlía Sylvía GUNNARSDÓTTIR / Manuel PIAZZA (ISL). The three partnerships are the top three partnerships in a group of 4 partnerships covered by 2.47 points, which is completed by Ioulia CHTCHETININA / Michał WOŹNIAK (POL) in 10th position, 1.32 points behind Camille and Pavel.

Camille and Pavel are in a very tight battle. Any of the four partnerships can finish in any of the four positions. Also, if any of them have a particularly good Free Skate and break out of the group, they could even climb further. But, equally, if any of them they make mistakes, they could fall out of the group and get eaten up by the tight group of four partnerships behind them.

So, let's hope that Camille and Pavel have a good Free Skate and can climb!

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

The Senior Pairs FS is due to start at 19:00:00 GMT (20:00:00 CET / 22:00:00 MSK). So 11 hours from now.

Camille and Pavel will be the 9th partnership to start. So, first partnership to go in Group 3 (and first partnership to go after the resurfacing).

The Group 3 Warm-Up is due to start at 20:31:20 GMT (21:31:20 CET / 23:31:20 MSK). So 12h 31m from now.

Camille and Pavel are due to start at 20:38:50 GMT (21:38:50 CET / 23:38:50 MSK). So 12h 38m from now.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before them withdraws.

Camille and Pavel finished 10th out of 16 in the FS, with a score of 106.84. This meant that they dropped to 10th position overall, with a score of 165.09.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

And here is what I wrote about their programme:

During the Warm-Up, Italian member @bartlebooth told us:

As they were about to skate, Hungarian member @sissy7 shouted:

While @EdgeCall was trying to be clever:

At the end of the programme, @bartlebooth commented:

And their fellow Italian, my good friend in Sicily @elektra blue, was impressed:

Although a bit more cautious, my Norwegian friend @norwegianfairytale thought the same:

And Polish member @Karoltyna was also impressed:

@EdgeCall was a disappointed that their reverse psychology didn't work quite as well as intended:

German member @DemTuppesSeine gave us an insight courtesy of the Eurosport commentators:

@Sai Bon was relieved:

And @amanda b was in awe of Camille after what happened at the NHK Trophy:

I think we all are!

@Seven Sisters liked everything about the programme:

To which @moonvine replied by asking:

To which @bartlebooth answered:

To which @moonvine replied:

To which @bartlebooth replied:

I also addressed @bartlebooth's initial answer with this:

My fellow British member @FlossieH unfortunately arrived too late:

Our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19, was impressed:

Czech member @flanker was more reserved, but seemed to be impressed too:

@yuumagical was relieved that Camille got through it:

As was @lileychristie in Australia:

My fellow Irish member @3T3T commented:

And I replied to the bit about the Olympics with this:

Camille and Pavel finished the Free Skate 2.70 points behind 9th position, Anastasia VAIPAN-LAW / Luke DIGBY (GBR), and 1.67 points ahead of 11th position, Júlía Sylvía GUNNARSDÓTTIR / Manuel PIAZZA (ISL). Camille and Pavel are at the head of a group of 4 partnerships covered by 4.08 points, which stretches down to Daria DANILOVA / Michel TSIBA (NED) in 13th position.

Overall, Camille and Pavel finished 2.33 points behind 9th position, Anna VALESI / Martin BIDAŘ (CZE), and 2.47 points ahead of 11th position, Gunnarsdóttir / Piazza.

Of course, they will be disappointed to have dropped a couple of positions from the SP. And disappointed that they finished one position and 2.54 points lower than that year. But considering Camille's shoulder issues, it is a great result to finish in the Top 10 and to be so close to where they were last year when they were a good deal fitter than they are now.

Now I hope they take the time to recuperate and try to get to as fit as they can between now and the Olympic Team Event.

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

They are listed in the individual event?!
(Which means that Team France didn't need their "joker card" in Pairs, allowing Poland to participate in the Team Event!)

Yes. Uzbekistan - as everyone expected - couldn't come up with a pairs team with the tech mins and citizenship, so the spot went to the first reserve, which was France. It is a shame that Uzbekistan didn't return the spot in a more timely manner.

Camille and Pavel will be making their Olympic debut today at the Olympic Team Event in Assago, Italy.

The Senior Pairs SP is due to start at 11:35:00 CET (10:35:00 GMT / 13:35:00 MSK). So 5 hours from now.

Camille and Pavel will be the 2nd partnership to start. So, second and middle partnership to go in Group 1 (and penultimate partnership to go before the resurfacing).

Camille and Pavel finished 7th out of 10 in the SP, with a score of 63.72.

Just after the broadcast started, I posted this in the competition thread:

It was too cute not to!

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

Here is what I wrote when they were being introduced:

And here is what I wrote about the programme:

The first post from other members that I think was for them came from @readernick as they were starting:

Can't argue with that sentiment!

@figureskatingandrainbows was doing Play-By-Plays:

To which I replied with this to point out a mistake, which was subsequently fixed:

@brens78 in Australia was doing a novel replication of the squares in the TES Box:

@readernick came back to comment about the programme:

@Seven Sisters felt the same:

As did @SmileHappy34:

I am nearly sure the next comment was about Sui / Han, so we move on to our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19:

The appropriately named @16Olympics was pleased:

Polish member @Karoltyna made a comment about Ice Dancer Evgenia Lopareva's expression when she was one of the team-mates in the results area:

There was some confusion about the positions because the commentators said one thing and the on-screen graphic said another, but @SmileHappy34 posted the correct position:

To which my Norwegian friend @norwegianfairytale replied:

To which @Sabsi replied:

Anyway, the final comment about the programme came from @Arriba627:

Looking at the Protocols, there was only one issue. The second element, the Double Toe. It had the only GOE hit of the programme, at -0.28, and because it already had the lowest BAse Value of the programme, it remained as the lowest scoring element of the programme. It got -4 frm Judge 2; -3 from Judge 4; -2 from six Judges; and 0 from Judge 7.

For the remaining elements, the GOE ranged from +0.48 for the fifth element, the Backwards Inside Death Spiral, to +1.40 for the third element, the Reverse Lasso Lift. And because the Reverse Lasso Lift already had the highest Base Value of the programme, it remained as the highest scoring element of the programme. Apart from two 0's for the aforementioned Backwards Inside Death Spiral, all the Judges marks for the elements with positive GOE were in the +1 to +3 range.

Camille and Pavel are currently 1.65 points behind 6th position, SUI Wenjing / HAN Cong (CHN), and 3.52 points ahead of 7th position, Ioulia CHTCHETININA / Michał WOŹNIAK (POL).

I didn't realise it at the time, but only the Top 5 teams go through to the Free Skate. And although Kévin Aymoz put in a great skate in the Men's SP, France ended up in 6th position. So, Camille and Pavel will not get to do their Free Skate today.

But, they don't have long to wait until they are back in action. They will be doing their SP in Assago again next Sunday.

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

The Athlete Bios on the IOC website have the a button which, when you press it, plays a recording of the athlete saying their own name! They first say it normal speed, and then break it down into syllables.

So, we finally have the definitive answer on how to pronounce their names! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

I actually discovered this a few days ago, but it took me a very long time to work out how to extract the addresses of the recordings. But, I got there in the end, and can now post the links.

Camille's Bio: https://www.olympics.com/en/milano-cortina-2026/results/athlete-details/45827
Camille Saying Her Name: https://wmr-static-assets.scd.dgplatform.net/wmr/static/_AUDIO/OWG2026/DT_AUDIO/45827_1.mp3

Please be aware that, for some unknown reason, when you play them in Firefox, it misses the first second of the recordings. But, they play in their entirity in Chrome, Edge and Opera.

Camille and Pavel finished 16th out of 19 in the SP, with a score of 64.65.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

And here is what I wrote about the programme:

The first comment about them came from @ruffledgrouse, who said:

My fellow British member @FlossieH, noticed something:

Out of curiosity, I just checked the videos of all their Short Programmes this season, and there was the same amount of white on Camille's dress the whole way through.

My good friend in Sicily, @elektra blue, thought the same as I did:

@figureskatingandrainbows was doing Play By Plays:

@FlossieH came back to echo elektra blue:

Not-the-band @cocteautwin was happy for them:

@skylark acknowledged the input of Bruno Massot:

German member @Sabsi thought they did well:

@Seven Sisters was another member that was happy for them:

Our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19, liked them:

@Arriba627 was relieved:

@frompolandwithlove got straight to the point:

Italian member @bartlebooth was happy with how things have gone for them since they arrived in Assago:

@FlyingFeather was happy for them, and then went off on a tangent:

Looking at the Protocols, the issue we all spotted was the only issue. The second element, the Double Toe, which Pavel had trouble with. It had the only GOE hit of the programme, at -0.72, which meant that it went from having the fourth highest Base Value of the programme, to being the lowest scoring element of the programme. The Judges gave it two -3's; four -2's; and four -1's.

For the remaining elements, the GOE ranged from +0.29 for the fifth element, the Backwards Inside Death Spiral, to +1.40 for the third element, the Reverse Lasso Lift. And because the Reverse Lasso Lift already had the highest Base Value of the programme, it remained as the highest scoring element of the programme. Apart from -2 from Judge 4 for the aforementioned Backwards Inside Death Spiral, all the Judges marks for the elements with positive GOE were in the 0 to +3 range.

Camille and Pavel are currently 0.58 points behind 15th position, Ioulia CHTCHETININA / Michał WOŹNIAK (POL), and 0.58 points ahead of 17th position, Daria DANILOVA / Michel TSIBA (NED). The three partnerships are the bottom three partnerships in a group where 16 partnerships are covered by 11.39 points, stretching up to Anastasiia METELKINA / Luka BERULAVA (GEO) in 2nd position, 10.81 points ahead of Camille and Pavel.

That was using my usual guide of using 2.00 point gaps to define groups. If I cut it down to 1.50 point gaps, then the three partnerships are the bottom three partnerships in a group where 7 partnerships are covered by 3.45 points, stretching up to Annika HOCKE / Robert KUNKEL (DEU) in 11th position, 2.87 points ahead of Camille and Pavel.

Howevevr, only the Top 16 get through to the Free Skate at the Olympics. Which means that Camille and Pavel do not have to worry about Daria and Michel breathing down their necks after the SP. They can now fully concentrate on the partnerships ahead of them, putting in a good Free Skate, and trying to climb up the order.

So let's hope they do just that in what will undoubtedly be their Olympic swansong (feels strange saying that just over a week after their Olympic debut!)

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

I'm not sure whether you looked at the wrong scores or have a copy and paste error, but they finished 16th out of 19 in the SP, with a score of 64.65. That is a new ISU PB for them.

Not again! This is the second time in the past few weeks I've forgot to copy the new details into that line. And the last time was with Camille and Pavel as well! :drama:

Thank you for flagging it up.  :points: I prefer to be corrected than to have the wrong information up.

By the way, I hope you also spotted that I answered your question about Camille's costume in that post. ;)

Thank you again.

Camille and Pavel finished 15th out of 16 in the FS, with a score of 113.78. This meant that they remained in 16th position overall, with a score of 178.43.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

And here is what I wrote about their programme:

The first comment that was relevant to Camille and Pavel was not actually about them! It came ferom German member @Sabsi, who spotted amongst the coaches two recently retired Pairs Skaters who represented Germany:

At the end of the Warm-Up, @Sabsi's focus moved onto the skaters Bruno was with:

@EdgeCall made a more general all the best message:

After Pavel's mishap, @ruffledgrouse commented:

And @EdgeCall made a comment that confused a lot of people (I realised what was being got at):

To which @ruffledgrouse replied:

But @EdgeCall explained:

Anyway, getting back to the skating, @moonvine only used two words to sum up Pavel's mishap:

While Netherlands based American @tulosai was looking at a positive:

As was our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19:

@skylark pointed out a lot of things that I had also thought:

Canadian member @4everchan appreciated them:

My fellow British member @Ruthypegs praised all three of them:

And @Demandred made a good point:

Finally, Italian member @bartlebooth pointed out something I didn't realise about the score:

Looking at the Protocols, and there was only one issue. And no prizes for guess which element it was. Yes, it was the second element, the Triple Salchow, which Pavel landed on the quarter and fell on. It had the only GOE hit of the programme, at a massive -2.15, which meant it went from having the fouth lowest Base Value of the programme, to being the lowest scoring element of the programme. Unsurprisingly, it got -5 from all nine Judges.

For the remaining elements, teh GOE ranged from +0.05 for the fith element, the Backwards Inside Death Spiral, to +0.90 for three elements: the opening element, the Triple Twist; the fourth element, the Axel Lasso Lift; and the eighth element, the Reverse Lasso Lift. Because the two Lasso Lifts had the joint highest Base Value of the programme, they remained the joint highest scoring elements of the programme. Apart from a -2 from Judge 1 for the aforementioned Backwards Inside Death Spiral, all the Judges marks for the elements with positive GOE ranged from 0 to +2.

Camille and Pavel finished the Free Skate 0.61 points behind 14th position, Karina AKOPOVA / Nikita RAKHMANIN (ARM), and 0.79 points ahead of 16th position, Anastasia VAIPAN-LAW / Luke DIGBY (GBR).

Overall, Camille and Pavel finished 0.63 points behind 15th position, Vaipan-Law / Digby, and 114.36 points ahead of 17th position, Daria DANILOVA / Michel TSIBA (NED). Camille and Pavel were the bottom partnersip in a group of three partnerships covered by 2.23 points, which was headed by Akopova / Rakhmanin.

If I am totally honest, I am disappointed that they finished in 16th position overall. They did better than that position suggests.

After the partnership that was skating after Camille and Pavel, @bartlebooth challenged what I had said when signing off my post about the programme:

To which I replied:

Whatever happens, although we had the blip with Camille's shoulder dislocation, on the whole this has been a great season for them. They have been skating better than I have seen them skate before.

If they do bring the curtain down this season, they will be ending on a high. And if they don't, they have set the foundations for potentially another great season next season.

Either way, I am so proud of them.

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

Camille and Pavel finished 15th out of 21 in the SP, with a score of 61.17.

Here is what I wrote in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

Here is what I wrote when they were being introduced:

And here is what I wrote about the programme:

There were actually only two other comments about them. The first was when they were about to skate, and came from @EdgeCall, who simply said:

You know, it's at times like this that I wish Camille had continued using her maiden name. Because "MenKov" has a better ring to it than "KovKov".

And the second was after they had skated, and came from our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19, who said:

Camille and Pavel are currently 1.52 points behind 14th position, ZHANG Jiaxuan / HUANG Yihang (CHN), and 1.05 points ahead of 16th position, Oxana VOUILLAMOZ / Tom BOUVART (CHE). The three of them are part a group of 17 partnerships covered by 13.34 points, stretching from Maria PAVLOVA / Alexei SVIATCHENKO (HUN) in 4th position, 8.75 points ahead of Camille and Pavel, down to Anna VALESI / Martin BIDAR (CZE) in 20th position, 4.59 points behind Camille and Pavel.

That was using my usual guide of using 2.00 point gaps to define groups. If I cut it down to 1.00 point gaps, then Camille and Pavel are in a group of their own. However, ahead of them would be a group of 8 partnerships covered by 4.60 points, stretching from Alisa EFIMOVA / Misha MITROFANOV (USA) in 7th position, 6.12 points ahead of Camille and Pavel, down to Zhang / Huang.

If they can jump the gap to the group ahead of them, then there is a good chance that they could climb considerably up the order.

So, let's hope that Camille and Pavel have a good Free Skate and can climb!

:cheer: WELL DONE!!! :cheer:

The Senior Pairs FS is due to start at 18:15:00 CET (17:15:00 CET). So 10 hours from now.
