Carolina Kostner

I had wished so much for Caro to have a great final triumph at her home world championships. Particularly after the SP it looked so good. But she is human after all, as we all are. And anyway, her career has become so unique that a setback does not make a difference anymore. :ohwell:

So upset, she had a medal in the bag :( unfortunately she’s never been good at dealing with the pressure of skating at home

After the Zagitova desaster she even had the Gold medal in the bag. They took the 3-3 out of the free and made it easier and still she didn't deliver. Though I both love Caro and Alina I am happy that justice was done with the medals this time.

I am pretty upset about this. I just got the chance to watch her FS now, but i knew the results... It was not as bad, but I admit, the technical content was not there. But I gotta admire Caro that she learned to stay in the program even if she messes up on difficult elements. She has gone a long way.

I will miss her dearly if she retires. She is a skater that impresses me even skating onto the ice.

Caro has shared several photos in her instagram, now her hair is a little shorter but she continues to be cute and smiling as always :agree2: , I loved the greeting cartoon she shared for Lambiel for his birthday (it included Victor N. from Yuri on Ice :rofl2: )

Carolina, never change

I was just about to post it.

It looks she is having time off and looks quite happy and oh so young.

I'm sad it didn't work out for her on home ice, but if she retires, she can retire knowing she had a full, beautiful career.

Posting more vacation photos. In one pic she is with swans. Her last photo contains lots of food.

So is there news on her career status?

Watching this year‘s Worlds was heartbreaking. Especially with Carolina. After the short I was soooo happy for her. And even though I knew beating Alina in the FP probably wouldn‘t be possible, I hoped for a silver medal. And then... Alina crumbled. And suddenly I was there, thinking: „If she skates clean, she‘s going to win this.“ But she didn‘t. :( And even though her technical content really wasn‘t as it used to be, I still hoped for a medal. Instead, it was fourth. Well, but she definitely is one in a kind. So, considering her loss there, maybe she‘s not going to stop competing now? She‘d probably have retired, had she won in Milan. Now? Well, one can hope...

I think it's 99% sure.

Toronto --> Lori Nichol --> New Programs --> Caro Will Keep On Competing. :)

YES! I knew it! Okay, technically spoken I didn‘t but OMG if that really is true, I‘m now even more hyped for the new season than I already was. Caro‘s just such a queen! No offense to Yuna here, you know, there are more queens than just one. :)

I hope she keeps competing. She is still capable to place quite high, ensuring extra spots for Italy, so it is not like she is taking somebody else's place. And she is just so magical... world of figure skating needs her.

There were three. Two retired, Caro's still on.

I know about Caro and Yuna, but can‘t decide on the third one?? Mao Asada? Midori Ito? Katarina Witt? Truly, there have been too many sublime figure skaters that I just don‘t know who you mean exactly. Maybe, it‘s not even one of the three I listed. Clarify, please! :D
