Compulsory Dance

Wow V/M has a higher score than B/A from Skate America!!!

I understand, that this are two different competitions, but its interesting - Anna CAPPELLINI / Luca LANOTTE have higher marks, than Federica FAIELLA / Massimo SCALI at SA. Its very interesting

Not only are these two different competitions, these are two different dances! :sheesh: No comparisons can be made.

You can't really compare compulsory dance results since they change every competition. At Skate America, the CD was the Austrian Waltz which is considered one of the most difficult compulsory dances yet. Here at Skate Canada, the CD is the Yankee Polka which is a much more easier dance

The Rus have 2 stumbles and are still ahead of Weaver/Poje? What happened to W/P to even be behind the other Canadians? Or was the hype for them a little early in coming and now it's too much for them to live or skate up to!

Remember that CD's aren't Weaver/Poje's strong suit. They were 7th at Canadians after the CD and managed to move up to 3rd.

This is also their first full season with the senior dances as well so it is not a surprise that they would struggle a little in this part of the event.

I wouldn't be surprised if W/P move up after the OD.

Agreed. First of all, Yay for Virtue/Moir!!!:clap:. Complsories aren't generally their strength, so it's great to see them with this kind of a lead this early on. As for W&P, i'd be surprised if they didn't move up after the OD and FD. The only competition that they didn't move up in after the CD last season was worlds, and that's because he fell in the OD. I also believe they were behind McCurdy and Coreno after the CD at nationals, and we all know what happenend there. I have noticed that this seems to be the case with so many dance teams in Canada, even in the Jr. ranks. The compulsories just aren't a strengh in general. D/L were the only exception that i can think of in recent years. Their CD was often stronger that their OD. Anyhow, good luck to all of the Canadian ice dance teams!!:agree:

*sigh* why do competitions happen when I don't have a high speed connection... I wanna see!
