Lots of fans in arena....

"Lovely - maybe make podium? Just couple of marks behind G/G going into this." says the Brits. "Brilliant skate!!!"

4th for France....actually it wasn't even close - Russians four full pts ahead of Belbin/Agosto.

French very upset - BOOS!!!! The cumpolsories did em in, say Brits.

Well, as much as I love Tanith & Ben and cheer their inevitable podium finish --

it's time for me to do my Russian Victory Call, as I've done after each event:

Team Rossiya: three figure skating golds down - one to go!!!!!

I'd still put my money on Sluty in the ladies.

10th for Wing and Lowe then? I think they'll be happy with that.

Slutskaya doesn't have that much competition. She'll win.

These judges suck. Poor French.

Major Accomplishment

Yes, it would be a major deal to get any medal- a silver would be fabulous.

VERY loud booing about the scores for French. Isabelle goes off abrubptly, report the Brits.

CONGRATS, Tan & Ben!!!! SILVER - best-ever finish for America in ice dancing, in history of the Olympics!!!!!!

Yay Tanith/Ben

but I just want to post a little :rolleye: and note that:

Worlds 2005:
1 Tatiana NAVKA / Roman KOSTOMAROV
2 Tanith BELBIN / Benjamin AGOSTO
3 Elena GRUSHINA / Ruslan GONCHAROV
4 Isabelle DELOBEL / Olivier SCHOENFELDER
5 Albena DENKOVA / Maxim STAVISKI

Hopefully this is a good indicator that Tanith and Ben will get gold in 2010. And from not being able to go to the Olympics to a silver medal... that's something I'm sure they'll love.

Looks bad for the sport. One has to wonder what it would have looked like if no one had fallen. The same? Would the Italians have figured in? Canada?

Someone should tell the judges that not every competition is the same with the same results.
