It was announced during Dance Wars tonight. Kristi will be competing on Dancing With the Stars which starts in March.

Penn Gillette - of the magician act Penn & Tellr
Marissa Jaret Winkokur - Tony winner for Hairspray
Adam Carolla- cost host of The Man Show
Chistian De la Fuente - Latin American heartthrob
Monica Seles - tennis champion. Wasn't she stabbed in the shoulder by a fan?
Mario - R&B singer. He resembles Chris Rock IMO.
Steve Guttenberg - of 3 Men and a baby, Coccoon.

Kristi's definitely got some votes from me based upon my fandom.

Of the above, I think Marlee Matlin, Penn Gillette, and Steve Guttenberg have the least known physical abilities. The others either have known musicality, dance skills and/or athleticism. (I think Adam was a former boxer)

I have not been able to keep any interest for watching Dancing with the Stars....I tried when one of "my" soap opera hunks was on, but I just couldn't get into it. I'll try to at least peek at Kristy. Right now, there are so many shows on that I'm trying to watch and because my DH goes to bed so early, I'm taping a lot...and baseball starts soon....
It seems to be either feast or famine with our tv schedule!

I usually hate it when people say who they'll vote for before they ever dance...but you know I'll be voting for Kristi! I just worry, because everybody's calling her the one to beat and usually the pre-favorites don't win!

Mathman, you can count on me to use my 2 landlines x 5, 1 cell phone x 5 and internet vote - mostly for Kristi.

I usually don't vote unless I feel that my favorite is at risk (so far, I've only voted for Emmett Smith because I really wanted him to beat Mario Lopez.) I don't usually vote based upon personalilty, but try to vote on my impression of dance skills - anyway, this is the 1st season where I may vote just to support my favorite celebrity from the list.

I think it will be great to see Christi do something different = show another side of her = just like it was for Apollo = I enjoyed watching him = I think she will do just fine = can't wait for the show to start

oh this is gonna be great! i am so excited. She will be a very good dancer. she still is in EXCELLENT shape and has most probably taken dance before when she was a skater.

Just the other day (after watching a commercial for the "live cast reveal" thing that they were supposed to have), I was thinking "Gee, I think it would be really cool to see how a figure skater would do on DwTS." Scott Hamilton was the first person to pop into my head, but Kristi Yamaguchi is even better, for personal fan-favorite reasons.

I do have to admit, though, that I see Kristi as sort of a ringer. Not only does she have gobs of professional skating experience (which, even if it doesn't help with the actual dance moves, helps with the music interpretation, audience connection, etc.), and not-unsubstantial pairs skating experience (which helps with things like working with a partner, using hand holds, matching timing, etc.).

I'm not a huge fan of the show, but will totally watch it for Kristi (like I watched for Apolo Ohno a year or so ago), or at least record it and watch Kristi perform!!

I think you can only vote a certain number of times, but I could be wrong....

the pictures of Kristi when she was a little girl on the ice are so cute! She's such a doll!
