Deniss Vasiljevs

New feature in Latvian newspaper: "Figure skating as an addiction. Conversation with Deniss Vasiljevs"

There are three quotations (translated by google)
I really miss the show and the feeling of tension in the air when I get on the ice. It's like an addiction to me. When I perform to an audience at a show or competition, I remember every time why I do it and why I love it so much. I want to remember this feeling of satisfaction. When it is in continuous doses, I become more and more motivated. At the moment, my motivation stays at the same level at best, but when the competition is canceled, it starts to decrease. I do my best to focus on my work and achieve my goals every day. However, I want to have more external factors that lift the mood.
What do you do in your free time outside of training?

It may sound funny, but there's a lot of snow outside right now, and I'm competing with my coach, who sled down the hill faster. This is my last race. I am careful and drive down, I think, around 20 km / h. I like to read books. I enjoy philosophy. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have started to focus on self-development and improvement. I try to put everything in order to be more productive and more grown. Dedicate free time to self-growth. I believe that I have become stronger physically. My overall health and immune system is great.
At the moment, I lack the time to relax and take a break, so that the next time I start working again, I will fully charge the batteries and train with more pleasure than bite teeth, with discipline and willpower. I would like someone to tell me now whether the World Cup will take place or not.

And one more quotation:
Yes, it is true that Switzerland is an extremely expensive country. I live a modest life compared to what is accepted as the norm here. I receive a lot of support from Latvian institutions, I am in the Latvian Olympic team, I am grateful for that. In a way, I'm afraid to use the word "money" because it corrupts people. I live for art and sports performance, not for something physical. Spiritual values are closer to me than material values. I respect the money, but I try to stay as far away from it as possible, entrusting everything to the manager Christopher Trevisan. I prefer to focus on training.

And here is a short clip - Deniss presenting his long hair (as an evidence for how long he hasn't taken part in a competition...): https://twitter.com/ozo_karlis/status/1352347674784256001

Reading interviews with Deniss is always a pleasure 😉 We can only hope that this difficult period will end soon.

Sledding definitely put a smile on my face 😀

I think Deniss's current hairstyle is adorable. I will almost be sad to see the ponytail go 😉

By the way, you can vote for Deniss in the annual popularity contest on Facebook: https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...4029600468&set=pcb.2878900895714434&source=48

Oh no he was in the lead last night but the guy in green overtook him again  I shared everywhere possible, even asked some friends who couldn't care less about skating and got on my OH's account to vote, I did everything so now I can only cross my fingers and everything. He has a global support, not just local, he should be a runaway winner! :hap10:

Dedication 😀

If anyone else has some friends who could help, ask them 😉 The gap is not unsurmountable.
