Thanks...definitely worth a read. I was surprised that he seemed to be saying that Urmanov didn't want him to study at all  and he was training less there? Why would that be, just because he thought it was too much of a distraction? Deniss is right, everyone needs to have some kind of mental stimulation outside of skating. And I may be reading between the lines too much, but it seems like he is saying the injury was the result of the way of training in Sochi...well, I don't want to imply it is Urmanov's fault, but most important is that Deniss has a good instinct for knowing what kind of training situation he needs and was able to find that in Switzerland. I just hope he and Stephane will not get sick of each other. They are one-on-one together every day in training, and then going hiking and things like that on the weekend. And Stephane even checks his homework! I know he lived with his old coach in Paris and probably really likes having this kind of substitute family, especially since he is still so young.

It's too bad that the schedule in Warsaw had to overlap so closely with NHK...maybe there will be some other senior Bs he can do between that and Euros.

From yesterday:

Catching up on #YuriOnIce before heading to Japan for the NHK Trophy! @yurionice_PR

Be sure to go to the link and see the pic  It's adorable! Stephane also posted an Instagram story of Deniss sleeping in the car in Japan. I guess he's probably not used to such time zone differences and jet lag, but his coach probably has enough experience to help him adjust.

And there were several Latvian flags in the audience:

He definitely performed better here than in Moscow. At least he's not in last place. :) I hope he'll do even better in the LP...I have to say I prefer that to his SP anyway.

Awww! Good for Deniss. Great experience for him and quite an improvement. His adorable coach looked very proud of him! He will need an extra large suitcase to take his gifts home.

6th place finish with the 5th FP! That's our boy!
Congratulations for showing us all how much you "love to skate"

Deniss and Stéphane are so adorable together in the Kiss and Cry.

So glad to see their happy faces and satisfaction with a job well done! He just needs to up the tech a bit and keep building that reputation and he will be on the way to success. And more good news - he was invited to be in the gala! :hap10:

He really did so well...and he and Stephane are seriously cute! Good luck to them on continuing to improve!
