Deniss Vasiljevs

Oh, interesting, I didn't realize Fantasy on Ice tickets are bought in bulk and resold by travel agents like JTB. This info seems more relevant to the Fantasy on Ice general thread at The Edge than Deniss' fan fest, but interesting info nonetheless. From my experience with other Japanese ice shows I buy them on my own directly from the official seller like Pia or Lawson (well, individual friends in Japan helped me buy them, but they're nothing like travel agents) and arrange the transportation and accommodation on my own.

I'm sure Niigata locals will have no problem buying the tickets though! The ICE (post-Mao edition) has stopped there in 2019 and 2022 and it's a stop they consistently sell out even during weekdays, they even sell out the tickets sold in D-day as they can release more seats after the equipment are settled (usually those new tickets are seats previously reserved for equipment). I'm sure Fantasy on Ice won't have any issue with that.
Sorry, I was unclear. Most of Fantasy on Ice tickets are sold through Pia (I think they're a credit card operator? And it does need a Japanese phone number and credit card), but a number of "best seats" are sold in bulk to a Japanese figure skating fans club, Crystal, and to tour operator JTB. When Yuzuru Hanyu is part of the cast, usually there's no ticket sold with Lawson, but this year in the Sendai stop, due to an exceptional concourse of circumstances, some (remote seats) tickets were sold via Lawson (they can be bought in convenience stores and in a paper form) in the last days. There were even a few, for the Friday show, at the rink itself.

Oh, Pia is not a credit card operator! They're like a Japanese Ticketmaster basically.

I'm aware of Ice Crystal, the oldest skating fan club in Japan (my preferred ice shows don't sell packages to the members of that fan club though, but it's ok since they rarely accept new members anyway). I just didn't realize there's a travel agent who is reselling the show tickets in a package with hotel and transport. You are right that it comes with a risk of overcharging for less than average quality accommodation. It probably wasn't a problem in the past when Fantasy on Ice shows were the only shows Yuzuru did in the off season, but now that there are more ice show options I can see fans being more selective. At least you guys aren't faced with 45 ice show options though! (Yet) 😆

Yeah, usually there are same day tickets even if the show is "sold out" since the layout of the show rink isn't finalized until the show is about to start and some seats that were reserved for equipment are then freed especially if there's high demand.

Anyway, this is a Deniss fan fest- I hope we can see his new SLB SP soon!

Deniss has been already practicing for Fantasy on Ice.
See his new hairstyle 🙂

Are his hair in his collar, or has he cut them?:jaw:

There will be on-site tickets for Niigata, at least Friday (there had been tidings in that no "annihilation", that is, loss at the drafts, had been reported), but it's unlikely to happen in Kobe, as, while the drafts are still ongoing, there are multiple reports of "annihilation", showing more demand than offer. Yuzuru Hanyu is doing 31 shows since his turning professional last July and I think it's a lot! Does Denis skate in 45 shows? Plus competitions??? Wow!

I'm sure that this length will be fantastic while skating! For viewers, that is. I can't imagine the time he'll need to comb his hair after a skate!
And he'll look even more like Liszt at his age.

Maybe the hair style is in keeping with his new programmes - wonder if he's planning on skating to some Liszt? - I can see that being a good choice for him.

In the second half he skated to “Hallelujah” and yes - that will be his new SP!

I don’t know the exact version which he skates to.

What do you guys think of this choice?

It was really unexpected for me but I think he will pull it off amazingly!
And also can’t wait for him to explain his own emotional story behind it!

Haven't been here for a while and come back to find a new haircut and an SLB Hallelujah SP! :points: for both. I can envision him doing a very soulful Hallelujah! A new choreographer will be good for him. I look forward to it!
