I wish he was at Skate America last year. But I'm still happy for his assignments.

He is! I saw him in Canada and Switzerland last year. This is breaking the bank for me again, but he NEVER competes in the US, so I simply cannot turn down this opportunity.

NHK is especially nice here I think as they can all go/stay together (so with Stéphane, Shoma) and he will have again plenty of fans, even more perhaps after the FaOI now.

I think he looks great. I was definitely shocked when he cut it, but mostly because he seemed so set on keeping it long (at least from reading many of the interviews). And as you say, his skating will always set him apart.
