I love how being Lambiel's student includes the awareness of your fashion sense too, perfect! :laugh2:

This is weird, but somehow this scene made me think of Oliver Twist  The ragamuffin who finds out he has a rich family...well, not that he was ever really a ragamuffin. But Deniss kind of looks like the boy from the movie "Oliver!" I would love to see him skate a program from that soundtrack!

I've found the full FS online, uploaded by FranceTV, without commentary. It's geoblocked, but I got around it with a proxy, maybe it'll work for someone else.

I managed to record the part with Deniss and Stephane right after the programe, and in K&C, so much praising from Stephane, he is so proud :luv17:

Some parts I managed to catch:

After the skate:
S: "You were fabulous, you were great, you were fabulous! This is amazing! [???]it was the best! The best! It was really, really, really, really, REALLY good!" (5x times REALLY LOL)

In K&C area:
S: [???] Good job.
*crowd cheering*
S: Thank you!
D: My pleasure to perform! Everything for you!
D: [?]

After the scores are out:
D: That's nice!
S: Good. I'm very, very, very, very, VERY happy! You were... [unstoppable?]. You were the most beautiful! And you ARE the most beautiful!
...
S: That's very good!
D: Yes!
S: That's very good! That's good

So much praising aaw :agree:

Stephane is such a nurturing coach, I dare say Deniss has awakened his paternal side, because he seems to worry more about this kid than the kid himself  But it's really nice and even smart of him. Like he said to Charlie White, as long as you give your student a perfectly balanced environment you won't have to worry so much about the mental part.

On a side note, now that Deniss has qualified for the Olympics I can't wait to see his next season's programs. I'm going to miss Voodoo Child and Four Seasons, but I'm sure the next ones will be even more amazing. Stephane said they had some exciting things prepared soooo.. does this mean we'll finally be able to see Deniss' quads? What do you think? he seems pretty consistent and good with his jumps so they're probably going to move forward now. Just hoping the best for him and a healthy learning!

@silverfoxes : I haven't watched that movie but I looked it up and now we're two on the same boat

I think for sure! He said he's already practicing them, right? I think he was talking about two types of quads, maybe toeloop and salchow? I was told that during his FS Tarasova aparently said that they (Stephane&Deniss) should start working on quads NOW, since Deniss seems to have developed so much recently.

I think it's so good that Deniss is with Stephane and can do practically any ice show with him, it's an amazing oportunity to practice not just the artistic side of his programs, but maybe even start including a quad here and there to see how it works in front of the crowd.

He's practicing quads but they just weren't ready to put in the program yet. He did try some at Art on Ice. I think as long as he stays injury-free this summer, he'll be ready to put at least one in for next season. :)

It's going to be a long wait to find out what music he will use. I think he can sell absolutely anything, though!

Congratulations to our new world champion! Truly an inspiration to work harder than ever. :agree:

Indeed, he stayed focused after the fall and it hardly affected the program. I was thinking about other skaters who went through a big growth spurt like Deniss has recently, like Nam Nguyen and Roman Sadovsky, and it's very impressive how stable Deniss has managed to be despite that, & after recovering from injury to boot. He was able to keep improving all season and you can't really ask for anything more than that. :)

I definitely agree with this and I think taking a long term approach towards developing the quads is probably a good idea to avoid unnecessary injuries while he's still growing.

Of course, I am hopeful we will see quads in competition from Deniss next season. It's nice to see he can do so well even without any though!

So excited we get to see him at the Olympics! Yay Deniss

I think Deniss is eager - he kept saying in the k & c all season "next time with quads"! Stéphane will have to keep him working patiently so he doesn't get hurt trying to do it all. He's referenced learning 4t, 4s and 4lz, and we've seen him try a 4t at Art on Ice. I could picture him doing a great 4lz actually, his 3lz is so dependable and has gotten quite big.

I'm so excited for next season...its going to be a long wait until we see new programs! I hope we get some training videos, and lots of show performances to tide us over!

Okay, I'm new to the GS and generally to any forum activity, but I was so impressed by such a full collection of Deniss-themed material, that I just had to register!

I hope here this looong wait for the next season will be less tormenting xD

Welcome to all the new posters - it's wonderful to see that Deniss has inspired several people to join :)

Oh I actually like the style he used in the banquet more than the blue suit, but both look amazing on him :luv17:

I'm really happy to see that I'm not the only new poster around, to be honest I was afraid of joining and not being able to make any good contributions but I'm glad I did. I hope we'll be a lot more in the future!

Speaking of next season, if you guys had the chance to choose the music for Deniss's new programs what would you recommend? Personally, we know he really likes history and how many Japanese fans he has so I'd love to see him skate to taiko drums! maybe a bit difficult in terms of choreography though? but surely nothing that Stephane couldn't do :'). On the other hand though, I still really love his Puttin' on the ritz routine and I'd LOVE to see something similar again, anything that can boost his showman skills

I just hope it's music I like, or at least don't hate, given how many times I'm likely to watch the programs over the season! There was a nice picture of Deniss on Alex Shibutani's instagram today, so it looks like he's back in Switzerland. I was wondering if he would go home to Latvia, but I guess not!

Well, I remember watching Tomas Verner's winning FS to taiko drums (were those actually taiko drums though?) and thinking something like "NOONE should ever skate to that", so I'd rather prefer something more melodic. Buuuut, I also remeber this year's Rostelecom, where I thought "How could Stephane let him pick THIS for SP, omg, there isn't even a melody there", but through the season Deniss made me completely fall in love with this programm and now nothing can stop me from singing Voodoo Child constantly.
So, I guess, team Deniss-Stephane can make me love any music after all.

As for me, I really love a good classical piece. I think that not so many skaters can keep up with classical music: it's usually strong, emotional and demanding. I've got to say, I was really afraid to watch Deniss' "Four seasons" for the first time. But he was so convincing that all my doubts faded momentarily. That said, I'm really looking forward to future Deniss' interpretations of classic (I'm sure, there are lots to come), but maybe not in the upcoming season. Variety is also important and always good.
One thing I can say for sure - I want my favourite coach/skater duo to stay original and not pick some worn out movie soundtrack like Pirates of the Caribbean (sorry, Breandan Kerry) or Requiem for a Dream (I swear, another requiem and I'll smash my TV).

Wow, this came out really long, sorry?
