Deniss Vasiljevs

Deniss's new program seems to have gotten a great response from the audience! Can't wait to see it. Hopefully there will be videos soon. He looks like he might be wearing the Bring Him Home outfit for now, but that could change later on.
I really enjoyed the first half of the recent interview too. It's comforting to know that Deniss doesn't put on a smile - he really is just so happy all the time that he's skating. =)

Have you seen this video? There are clips of him practicing it. I bet he will drive some Japanese ladies wild with those moves. :laugh: I can't wait to see!

The toy is called "Kendama". He does use the correct technique, it's all about knees ;) I am sure he will be nailing more difficult tricks in no time if he keeps at it :agree: Steph looks like a Yogi in that white thingy. LOL at Guillaume too, he is so bent on giving it a go himself he forgets about his phone :laugh2:

On a side note, there were two sets of wayward necklaces which came undone on the ice and disrupted today's show (on two separate occasions). One was worn by Johnny Weir (it's not the first time that happens to him!) then another by Anna Pogorilaya. Everyone had to come out and look for them. It is reported that Deniss found Anna's. Good boy Deniss! :hap10:

Thank you, Reut Golinsky, for the thrilling interwiev. Seems, the whole picture turns out to be really truthful. I have always enjoyed Deniss' way of thinking, he is really a smart boy, especially for his age. It's clear that Stephane handles very well with his resposibilities. But still i wish he would be a little bit more adult. I know the others may not agree, but sometimes he is a bit too childish for a grown-up man.

Indeed!!! That's why everyone came out and looked for them immediately. I don't know the details of today's mishaps, but when Johnny had the same accident several years ago tiny bits and pieces went all over the place and it was a fine mess :palmf: I hope it was simpler this time!!

Actually, I think it was Stephane's adult side that made him answer "100% child". He knows to take a playful approach in such questions which were meant to be fun, not exactly like a psychiatric analysis. Deniss, on the other hand, takes all the question very seriously, and put all his earnest thoughts into it, and that shows his youth - which was to me also quite endearing :luv17:

This video is amazing for three reasons:

1. Stephane in Jesus mode
2. Guillaume giving up after Stephane didn't pay much attention to him and his fan and using it to support Deniss instead
3. Deniss's little sound of frustration and his victorious smile at the end
 
Wow, what a great interview! They just have such a wonderful rapport, I could read or listen to them talk all day. Deniss is so intelligent and perceptive about everything. I really felt bad when I read the part about how much harder he has to work because he isn't an established skater (although I think being from a small fed is even more of a drawback). It's so true and so unfair. But that's the system they have to work with. But I believe 100% Deniss can become as much of a star as Stephane or Javier...he's still at the beginning of his senior career, after all.
 
This might be out of topic. After reading the interviews, I wondered how was Deniss' life before Stephane. We see that Stephane takes care of Deniss not only in skating but also in his daily life now for the reasons that was stated in the interview. During his Paris time, he lived with his coach so he should be looked after at that time too. But I don't think Deniss lived with Urmanov during his Sochi time (maybe he did but no one asked him about it?). His parents also didn't move with him (correct me on this if I'm wrong). So, how was his life at the age 15-16??? Did he even eat properly? :o
 
I'm not sure of the details of his living arrangements in Sochi but I get the feeling he wasn't as happy there as he is now. He said in interviews that training took up all of his time and he could not study or draw very much. I'm really glad he moved to live with Stephane because now his life is more balanced.
