I never donate to these (not because I don't want to, just because I'm trying to save money to buy a house, and for other things) but I think I might donate to Deniss. He's just too talented and I doubt he can get much financial support from Latvia.

That video is very cute by the way :) Who's the narrator?

Same here, he is just too special. I have already donated although it was less than a tiny drop in the ocean. I had to show my support, as soon as I got a confirmation that the crowd funding campaign was opened by his long time coach Ingrida Snieškienė herself. He is at this moment having to train all by himself in Latvia, he needs the opportunity to stay in Sochi for longer period to train with coach Urmanov, among other things.
And I would like to know the narrator too! :agree:

I never donate either but I've just booked three major jobs this month and I'm celebrating this sudden windfall (which I'll see in my bank account at the end of June if I'm lucky - ah the joys of self-employment...:drama:) by giving Deniss a little something :agree:

Finally! Photos from Worlds practice sessions (x2) are uploaded :yahoo: Got some Urmanov by the boards coaching action too! Enjoy!

Thanks Rad. I love how even in practice, Deniss exudes the joy in being on the ice. And I may be alone, but I like the mop top. Such a cutie. ;)

(For me, it also didn't hurt that you captured Deniss in deep discussion with Urmanov *and* Adam in deep discussion with Rafa and Derrick Delmore at the boards. Two for the price of one. :)

OMG!!!! wonderful, wonderful images, thank you, thank you so much!!!!! and I agree he lets his charming personality and exuberance all hang out also in the practice and that is beyond endearing. And some lovely shots with coach Urmanov!!!! I admit the coach was the initial cause that drew my attention to Deniss, he is one of my all time fav skaters and my forever prince. But it didn't take long at all to discover that Deniss is a totally special skater himself, and I am so happy and thrilled that the two generations of my dearies are working together now :luv17::hap57: May I share your pictures on my facebook page?

BTW his haircut  I think they added a subtle touch for a bit more sophisticated look leading up to WC. It looks quite nice now, maybe a little more layer on the fringe to make it look less "choppy", I think it will be perfect for him. :yes2:

BTW here is an adorable video of an interview after his short programme at WC, pleasantly overwhelmed, excited Deniss :luv17:

A new interview :)

http://www.grani.lv/daugavpils/67270-denis-vasilev-nikogda-nelzya-sdavatsya.html

Always surprisingly pleasant to communicate with an intelligent and passionate man. It is doubly pleasant when your companion is self-contained and amazingly positive young man who, in spite of the abundance of high sports achievements and awards, easy to communicate, kind and cheerful.

Portal Grani.lv very lucky in between workouts, championships and training sessions were able to meet with our renowned skater - the champion of Latvia, silver medalist of the Youth Olympic Games in 2016, tenth-Russian Lyceum Denis Vasilyev. Many thanks for organizing this meeting, the curator of the 10th stream Elena Vasilyeva.

- Denis, you are engaged in figure skating since 4 years. Not tired?

- In no case! In that I was engaged in figure skating, I insisted my mother: I do not have a swim, so I went out on the ice. Initially, the main problem was - get me out of the house, because there were computer games, movies. Mom, you see, did it (laughs), and I liked it on the ice. Now forced to go on the ice I do not, I can not live without it, and the day, and figure skating from the hobby grew into a favorite activity in my life's work, to which I devote all my time and give all their strength.

- How do you manage to combine a busy schedule of training and performances with success in school?

- In school I spend a little time, but I always try to make up for the material and use the time to the maximum. I generally solve problems as they come. My life is very rapid, the eternal race, and I have yet to have time. I find it difficult to plan anything, but now I know exactly what should be good to finish 12th grade and secondary education. What will my future profession, has not yet decided, but that it will be associated with the sport, it is beyond doubt. After all, the sport I perfectly understand and is already able to share their knowledge and experience. In the meantime, I really like the school biology and physics, I just adore.

- They say that figure skating is akin to the races, "Formula 1", when all the credit gets skater, but his victory is the work of the whole team. Do you agree?

- Totally! Winning skaters - the fruit of collective work. Now I have a lot of people who are behind the scenes, but they are part of my life is very important. These are my trainers in Sochi, Alexei Urmanov (author's note:. Famous Russian athlete, Olympic champion 1994), in Paris, in Latvia. This is my mother, who is a great motivator for me, the most "magical kick" carrot and stick.

Figure skating - it's not a sport, it is an art that requires full-time commitment. The hardest part of it - to withstand the psychological, physical and emotional stress. I constantly improve and develop. In figure skating little to learn purely to perform spins and jumps, you must still have a sense of rhythm, fluidity of movement, artistry, but it is - the only thing in which I like everything.

- Now most of the time you spend exercising in Sochi. Like it?

- Very! However, a stroll around the resort once: I train all the time, but in the summer often after training we run into the Black Sea. In Sochi, not easy, but I'm already used to the eternal heat and unbearable summer heat.

- Are there any dietary restrictions skater?

- All skaters are very fond of sweets: glucose helps to cope with large physical exertion. However, the girls in the larger limit. I love sweets and a good cook. For example, meat with rice in multivarka, and still another in Sochi, we do great pasta nautically.

As far as eating habits, I love the French, Italian and Japanese cuisine. I just love the land and know how to cook them, but we, unfortunately, can not buy tuna and scallops.

- Tell us about your Japanese fan club?

- Japanese - unique people who love figure skating, considering his art on the ice. They are very respectful fans and constantly give me gifts, very beautiful and useful: branded shirts, fancy ties, and even sweetness of wasabi - a terrific treat.

- How to fight fatigue, bad mood, troubles?

- Song of sing, listen to music: classical, rock, heavy metal. Actually, I'm sure you can not give up. You can not be afraid of failures and losses. It would be disrespectful to himself, his work, the fact that you have invested in parents, coaches. Hope dies last, and win often have to yourself. In addition, any bad day always ends.

- Thank you so much! And good luck in everything!

thank you so much for the lovely interview and taking your time to post the translation!! He is indeed such a dear in person, I love this interview done by those Japanese fan club (only a year ago but you can see how much he has grown in just one year!!!)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2DjbTPQ47Y
I so love the way he totally takes every single question seriously and strives to answer in the earnest :luv17:
And he is already highly diplomatic, "what is your favourite food?" >>> Immediately "Sushi!!!"
Upon being asked what he knows about Japan he really strains his brain trying to tell everything that he knows about Japan in detail...
And I can just picture him doing the same in this interview... but without much less struggle in his own language! :party2:
How can you not adore this boy!!!???
