Since Deniss has been picking up some new fans lately, I encourage those who haven't seen his older videos to watch them! Despite being a little rough around the edges, of course (esp. in the jumps department), I still can't get over how good he was already at 9/10 years old. He must be one of the most naturally talented skaters ever!

Anyone knows what the occasion is? Someone's birthday?

(Also this is my first ever post on goldenskate, I've been lurking around here for some time now, but I was too scared to post in Yuzu thread which I originally signed up for, it is a bit... intimidating 😅 So I figured I'd start with something more chill :D)

We are friendly here ;) I don't know if it was any special occasion. Maybe Deniss was allowed a break from his diet for the weekend and was dreaming of a cake. :laugh:

Deniss has his birthday in August. The creator of Yuri on Ice, now seems to be on a pretty friendly term with the team and recently seen in a picture along with Deniss and Chris in Champery, sent a birthday greeting to Chris on the 14th, so I think Albalonga is correct!

Yes, Deniss has his birthday in August. Too. :) This happens. :)

Birthday greeting from Yuri on Ice creator was for the character from the show, Christophe Giacometti.
Here is his full profile which also includes that same date, February 14th:

Well, since Deniss and Stephane are such big YOI fans, maybe the cake was actually in honor of Mr. Giacometti :biggrin:

Considering also that it was a few days after February 14th, mmm, I doubt that. :laugh:
Also it could just be in honor of a nice weekend, or just because they had some time for baking that day.

Looks like Deniss became quite a fan of Instagram stories, now he has one with sushi. Great job, Deniss, keep'em coming! ;)

That stuff is brilliant, isn't it? :dance2: :rock: I attended the AOI-show that evening and met Dai a few hours before this happened. I will be forever sad that the aftershow ticket-prices are too expensive for me to afford. :( Would've loved to witness this in person!

Thanks for sharing! Deniss' dancing really is amazing too, as expected from a skater with good rhythm though :biggrin:

I noticed that insideskating just posted another interview with Stephane where he talks about the Europeans and his and Deniss' conversation after the free skate.

I love their attitude towards that missed 3A, I think this will be such a great learning experience for Deniss' next competition! I really hope he does great at Wolrds!

Speaking of next competitions, he is competing in Cup of Tyrol today! Fingers crossed! :hap10:
 
Hello, new to forums here! I'm a huge Deniss fan - I've been secretly watching Cup of Tyrol at my desk at work and got so nervous for him. Poor guy - he looked so mad about the fall!

Welcome :) Wasn't perfect, but first place is pretty good so far! Just goes to show that quads aren't everything (at least not when everyone else makes mistakes, too...).
 
Deniss just won Cup of Tyrol!!! Congrats! :hap10: He looked super poised in his FS.
