After not competing for months, to have your first competition in a packed Japanese arena would be hard for just about anyone, and Deniss is not quite a seasoned veteran. I wish he could have gotten his feet wet at a senior B first. Oh well...nobody cares too much about JO, in the grand scheme of things. Belarus should be a whole lot easier

He's still not going to tell us what the SP is???

Edit 2: OK, I know that it's easy to look tall, staying between Shoma and Satoko, but even comparing to others he still looks taller than in summer...

Edit 2: OK, I know that it's easy to look tall, staying between Shoma and Satoko, but even comparing to others he still looks taller than in summer...

In this picture he looks only a little bit taller than Javi, I think he is around 175-176 at the most. He is deceptively long-limbed

Definitely not a POTO
I love the long entry and pulsing rythm. And the trumpet is great! Not sure about vocal (having prefered Temptations, but believe Deniss can change my preference )
The song is some 6 minutes long, so everything depends on music cuts, but it has a lot of potential. I can't wait to see Deniss performing to it :agree2:.

Well, I wished for something more upbeat and dance-y, which it is. I don't know why they chose the Phil Collins version, but it isn't quite as bad as I expected. I feel like Deniss will do his magic and make it quite entertaining. I didn't love Voodoo Child either, and he made it work, sort of (although it's def not my favorite from him). This one should be more of a crowdpleaser if he skates to his potential. Still holding out for that Woodkid program, though! Maybe he'll use it for a gala.

^^^ this. Echoes my thoughts 100%. Woodkid program??? Run Boy Run? Oh that would be perfect for him!!! :agree: He is from Lyon, neighbourhood of Grenoble... can we hope for a Local service? (that song may also fit Kevin Aymoz too though, also a local boy!)

I think the song he had in mind was Iron, actually, so not too much of a warhorse, although I've noticed Woodkid is really popular this year in general! I'm not a fan of the lyrics either (though I do like Phil Collins), but almost three minutes of it is instrumental. We will have to wait and see what music cuts they use. I've listened to it a few times now and I do think it has potential.
