I still really hope he goes with the new program. But maybe he has yet to get comfortable with the choreo and doesn't want to repeat the same scenario he had last year? Or perhaps saving it as an Olympic program? Still hopeful that it all comes together for him.
The new program for the Olympic year makes sense. If you think you have a masterpiece, saving it for the Olympics is best.

It's really energetic and I'm sure Deniss has a lot of fun performing it (however I guess it's still work in progress).
I posted the guide how to watch pia livestreams on page 2 of this thread - when you register (just follow this link to register: https://pia-live.jp/signup/entry?lang=en) you need to name Japan as your country of residence (this is crucial, otherwise they won't let you pay and view the stream). No Japanese credit card/phone number or vpn client required. I guarantee that it works, because I watched The Ice, Mao's Beyond (last year) and Bloom on Ice (this year) this way (I'm in Germany).
