Okay this is getting disgusting. Sure Davis and White are good as is Abbott but come on these scores have little to do with reality. I thought Russia and Canada were bad but not only does it appear techincally the tes specialistis being generous but then the judges are being very generous. The results here would suggest no one in the world really could compete with not only the top tier Americans but people like Dornbush. Dai, Chan and Fernandez all would have trouble getting his scores let alone Abbotts. This could be perfect time for Abbott and Mirai they seem to be peaking after a lot of bad skates.

Russia, yes -- Canada - not so much if you compare their home & international scores. With this judging it's obvious the US teams will be scooping up 4 gold medals.

You serious?
They turn on her? She gave them a reason to. Had she skated flawlessly and got 55, then yes, they turned on her. But she messed up her money jump. Again. At the competition where her spot is on the line. Again.
What do you want them to do? Give her 68?

What I meant was that she has been badly overscored in the past, and NOW they decide to lower her scores (where they should have been in the first place, probably.) She should have been scored correctly in the past and then perhaps she would have worked on her obvious flaws. I'm not particularly a fan of her skating, I find her skating rather "meh," but propping her up in the past did her no favors. Not when there were other, better skaters around.

Anway, I hope Ashley and Gracie both make it, they deserve it, but I can't decide who I want the third lady to be. I'm really torn. I do love Mirai, though.

I think Canada has more home cooking than the U.S. Look at Chan's PCS 48 with two big mistakes-that's ridiculous. :disapp: Jeremy has better presentation than Chan, and he's clean, yet he got a reasonable 45.

Yes, but Chan is going to get big GOE's and deserves more for SS and such because he has speed, difficulty and creativity inbetween which afffects ss, choreo, interpretation etc. SO I think I am understanding how Chan's skating skills/inbetweens can affect his marks positively.

Of course everyone here is disgusted by this judging.
The point is clear. Something shady is always going on. I've seen first hand how overscored Agnes was. I wouldn't be surprised that the US Fed sent a debit memo to the judges. We overpaid this girl by 20 points in PCS and GOE, take them back this year.

Agnes is not much worse, but in this field, she's more like 27.5 PCS skater. She earned about 3 PCS points higher than what she should get last year, so now she's paying for it back. And she hasn't even done paying yet. Her future is bleak with the US Fed. The debit memo is huge for Agnes.

Fair for her? No. Like I said, she shouldn't even get 15 on PCS.
For others? No, they want a chance to compete at 4CC, at GPs, at all other events that Agnes took from them.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but let's just say Agnes shouldn't be punching tickets to any events in the future.

The other girls, Ashley and Gracie are currently in the US Fed welfare roster.

If Ashley doesn't make top 3, she shouldn't go to the Olympics.
For her contribution, send her to World.

This is exactly why the sport is declining, because the judging remains an issue and the ICMS ensures those they want held up are. It's all about the politics now.

Chan actually skated a clean programme- his 2 axel and 2 lutz were well executed and thus would have little impact on program components, and the rest of the programme was skated with the usual speed, power, complexity and musicality.

It would have no impact. The PCS criteria do not include jumps and jumps are to be scored separately. If a judge excludes jump success from PCS scoring then they are judging according to the rules. We need to stop bitching about skaters and judges and put the blame for the problems we have with outcomes on what caused it, the scoring system. This isn't to you, just used your post to reply. :)

I have been saying that. If people think ie. Chan's scores are inflated well they should and maybe even more - why the scoring system. Call it double dipping but with his speed, finesse, inbetweens and edges that adds to the goe's often on spins and jumps (look at the judging requirements for goes entries, speed, footwork into and out of etc. Sure people including Chan tend to stalk their hard tricks but look at the speed, relatively short stalk, and the edge iti s a thing of beauty likewise though not to the same level Caro or Kim. At least everyone sort of knew and expected oddities with 6.0. I read in one article that in some ways by making sale and pelletier souch a huge thing skating was destroyed. Now am I saying everyone shoud have not whined - I am not sure but as I have repeatedly point out go to the scoring system back then for example the tie breaker was artistry (not to mention some may argue B and S had far better skating skills which might show up back then in the tech mark). So if you had say S and P first in tech but second in artistry and B and S second in tech and first in artistry well B and S would win - it was the scoring system regardless of the issue about the judges footsies or whatever:) The real outrage is how it seems skating is disappearing and in many ways we, the fans are part of it :(

I am losing faith in the judging. I thought Canada was bad but at least they didn't mark up their ladies nearly as much as the US did its pairs. I guess in the America ifyou are skating at Nationals you get GOEs for smiling at the judges and if you try a double axel and you don't land on your butt that is worth more too. Marks are given out freely and gratutiously nicely gift wrapped and a flute of champagne. OMG Virtue and Moir should retire with the incredibly geneorus marks D and W are getting - just crazy and worse the ubiquitous pairs are scored like olympic threats for imperfect performances that lack the sophistication or difficulty of the very top teams. These judges should be banned from all international events! It's a scandal; it's an outrage. come to America and skate - if you fall on your butt we will still mark you up like you are a world contender or pretender.
