Goyo should be proud of Donovan, but also himself. He really did an amazing job of teaching (and don't forget choreographing) Donovan. I think he will have future successful skaters assuming he wants to continue coaching.
That is exactly what I was thinking....Jason and Kori Ade....I hope Coach Gregorio is able to see that this is the best move for Donovan and will get many more students.

I'm VERY excited to see how Donovan does with different coaching and no longer having to train at a mall rink.

Social media alert!

Donovan has an account on "Threads", and it is, well, interesting. It has a check, (Threads has real checks, unlike the dumpster fire that Twitter has become) and I think it is a real account. So far he has posted: (in Spanish of course, Google translate, Threads does not have a translation option)

1) If you want others to value you, start with yourself.

2) If something costs you your peace, it is is too expensive

3) be cool without f****ing others

4) I've only been out of Mexico for 7 days and I can no longer (take it), I crave good tacos

I don't think you can post videos on Threads, but I am finding the posts more interesting than promoting sunscreen (and I don't resent the endless sunscreen ads, make that coin, Donovan!).

ETA: I can't add a link because I can't access Threads from the laptop and can't copy from the phone app.

I can't take it either Donovan. The Mexican food here is horrible.

I know you don't mean it that way, but that post sounds like you are in Canada. If you were, you could go to the Rotation Room and watch Donovan train.

Thank you Marirue!

Another clip on Twitter without audio, h/t to @TontoK for the link. This link also appears to identify the music:

(Just noticed we can no longer embed Twitter. When you embed, it says the Tweet is unavailable, but it is not, you just need to click the link..)

Donovan is rusty, but he is skating.:hap10: He is in 8th place after the SP

Just in case anyone missed it in the Edge, be sure to watch this interview with GoldenSkate with Donovan, I learned a lot:

1. When looking for a new coach and a new training environment, he needed one that would prioritize the joy in skating. Yes, results, yes, elements, but he must have said (not exaggerating) enjoy skating at least five times overall in the interview.

2. He was off the ice for four months with his ankle surgery. He lived at home with his parents for two months, the longest he had been back in Guadalajara since he was 13.

3. He chose his new coaches because he had worked with them before, the Olympics are not that far away, and he didn't want to acclimate to an entirely new training environment.

4. Interesting discussion on how he chose his new music:

So good to hear from Donovan:hap10:
