We all thought it was coming, Lindsay van Zundert is retiring at 19years old.

Source (in Dutch):

Summary:
She can't find the motivation any more to train so hard and not getting the results she wished for. Also, she misses Joan Haanappel and Sjoukje Dijkstra [who both died earlier this year] who were always so stimulating and inspiring to her. She will not leave the sport altogether but plans to coach/train.

So sad. Also it was the wish of Joan and Sjoukje to see a Dutch skater in Milan... Hopefully Wories, Sanilova & Tsiba can go to Milan. My biggest hopes are for the pairs. I am afraid that Lindsay receives extremely a lot of hate right now from Chinese... Which she actually made by herself... but kinda sad.

Age doesn't matter for retirement if she was a Russian they would scream that it was the training method...

why would "the chinese" have some sort of vendetta against Lindsay? Even if there was some under- the- table things or controversies in the dutch federation, why would "the chinese" specifically care?
I sense that there are some elements I'm not aware of, and without being too obnoxious, would like to acknowledge Lindsay's accomplishments in Stockholm 2021 and the Beijing Olympics, I was personally invested in her and loved to watch her perform. After such a complex and traumatic Olympics for the sport, I just saw that she really struggled to reboot, as a growing teen- woman, national pressure, chasing that triple triple.. we saw similar things before (Maddy Schizas comes to mind, Alexandra Feigin..) I'm not disregarding any claims but her experience and decisions could be more nuanced and multifaceted. It was sad seeing her compete last season and I wish her the best (and perhaps a comeback later on!)
As for Niki, I think I saw her last compete the Challenge Cup 2022... I remember myself being really scared for her on the triples and with the technique, checked skatingscores to confirm... bottom line is I can't be rationally optimistic for this comeback, it's not an Alysa Liu situation where she can squeeze a triple out of thin air, but you never know with the women's field as it is where she could end up qualifying, I'll keep my fingers crossed!
I don't know where this ramble came from 😅 I just wanted to dissect and rationalize this weird black- and- white narrative insinuated in this thread that Lindsay is the villain and Niki is the returning heroine

Lindsay is no villain to me. I don't get the hate from the Chinese either. Hey, she was the first woman from the Netherlands to skate at the Olympic's in 46 years. Quite an achievement.

And Niki? I don't know whether she will achieve anything championwise, just happy to see her back and enjoying skating for herself (as she has said).

I have edited the OP to include the return of Niki, and the retirement of Lindsay.

She squinted her eyes when she arrived in Beijing. So no wonder that a lot of Chinese wanted to boo her out of the stadium if their could be spectators. Sadly the footage is deleted by the person who shared it on the socials, cause some people started to make theories about her (and Kami). Which I didn't like.

The Dutch Skating website has been renewed and, finally, we've got the most recent Dtuch team: 1 pair (Daria and Michel), one junior woman (Angel Delavaque), 2 senior women (Juli van Dijk and Niki Wories) and 2 ID couples (both Hanna/Alessio and Chelsea/sherim are returning). Not new, but I am glad they finally refreshed everything! The site is in Dutch but the names obviously remain the same.

Angel Delavaque came 14th overall last weekend at JGP Czech Skate in Ostrava, with a new personal best score.

Skate Dordrecht is an international competition but in a rather limited way. Only singles, only one senior (from the UK) en one junior (also from the UK) man, 6 senior women (of which 4 from The Netherlands) and 14 junior women (of which 7 of The Netherlands). As stated by @Orchidea above, it will be Niki Wories' first competition after her decision to come back.

There is also a complement of much younger skaters (basic novice, advanced novice and mini's). For results:

Freddie!! I was wondering where he was. Hopefully he can get a good score and gain the CTES for Euros. He had the technical minimums under the old system. Whilst it is unlikely he would get selected for Euros, regaining the technical minimum would allow him to get back on our performance squad.

Jack Donovan has just moved up from Novice this season, so it should be really useful experience for him.

I don't know anything about Paige Devaney.

It seems Daria Danilova just celebrated her birthday, now being 22 years old. Congrats! For those who can't see it: the picture on insta shows her getting a birthday cake with 22 candles from Michel.

The rink where he coaches has artificial ice?!! 😮 I thought the artificial/plastic ice wrecked blades - or has it changed? Is there not a fair bit of adjusting to do when the skaters skate on actual ice at competitions?
