Ekaterina Bobrova & Dmitri Soloviev

The Karenina FD rocks!!!!! I love love love that upside down straight lift at the beginning, and today twizzles is perfect. :cheer:

Karenina FD has potential to be a great dance, but I hope they'll change that second lift. And I think the mixing of the cuts from the soundrack is far from perfect. There is so much beautiful pieces left :) And I think their SD is better than FD. I actually think most teams have better SD'es, maybe except I/Z.
Overall I believe with the great SD it'll be enough to fight for #1 russian status and likely to win it.

I actually like that FD, they're very emotional, especially the last scene when she covered his eyes and... er... left. Maybe they want the Karenina FD to be like a nostalgic and far off memory, so it's soft and lyrical.
They proved that they can work out the twizzles set. And about the combo lift, well, if that won't work, I think they can still take the lift from SD to replace it here.

It is NOT bad, I also didn't say that I don't like it, in fact I do. It's very sentimental, melancholic and VERY russian in every sense of the word. The dance made sense for me also because it's one of my favourite classic books. I know everything about life and tragedy of Tolstoy's Anna Karenina. I think Katia is a great Anna Karenina. I just think their SD is the real deal, it will score great if skated cleanly.

I also like the FD. I also feel that Katia has really improved so much as a skater. That solo work she did while Dmitri was injured is showing here. Her posture looks a lot better and I feel she is holding her moves more rather than speed to the next element.

Of the FDs shown at the test skates, theirs is my favorite! A beautiful program.

They are almost back in shape, and I agree that Katia looks better than ever.

I like the FD. I hope they'll do something about the costuming, he needs some tights over his skating boots to match the color of the suit, I found that rather distracting.

Speaking of costumes, I usually don't like their choices too much. But they 100% are on point in both SD and FD, IMO. The dresses are beautiful and suit the dances, and Dima's costumes are awesome too. I'm surprised tbh.

I'm really loving their FD. The interpretation is great, I love the choreography. The ending is really poignant and, while it's a strange thing to say, I really like their spins here. Spins in pairs and ice dance are an iffy thing for me, they're usually rather slow and are part of the program only because they have to be. Here, there's actually some interpretation in the spins.
I don't know why I'm talking about spins :hopelessness:

I love Katia's Anna dress, she looks like she just walk straight down from Mariinsky stage (how strange, but it really reminds me of Mariinsky's Anna Karenina ballet)

Their free dance is beautiful. I hope they do well this season, I missed them last season.

How well they can tell the story:love: !

I see this FD on the podium at Worlds in Boston. It is that special to me.

Oh My God! Doris, I love you for this post, really :hopelessness::cry:
I'm SO hoping you're right! Have you read 'Anna Karenina' by the way?

And there probably will be one more video of the dances. From me. I'm going to see them live at Thursday second time ever, I'm so excited! They're doing Russian cup here at Samara on 17th of September, hopefully they're still on the participants list. I have no idea who's going to dance there beside them, though
And there's a free pass, anyone can come and watch for absolutely FREE.
