Looks fair.

It's a bit of a challenge to get on the site & will depend on your security settings, but there are more pictures on weibo.com/cupofchina and weibo.com/skatingchina

There are practice reports in the SD thread and apparently Ruslena looked very fast in their FD practice. :)

Interesting...:ohwell:

He is only the assistant technical specialist, it looks as though all will be fair. I am not really concerned as to where they place tbh, but rather that they have skates they are proud of.

Yeah I am not worried about this technical team. To say it could be worse is a huge understatement- again, I think this was realistically the best to be hoped for.

I also just want them to skate their best here!! :hap10:

Vaytsehovskaia's preview article - she writes that of course there has been a lot of discussion of I/Z's programs, but that's because they were the top team in Russia last season and so there's more expectations on them. She thinks their dance, especially Frida is more complex than any of their rivals; it has all the small movement and detail that can elevate a program from just an athletic exercise into a work of art. Of course it is risky (the dance equivalent of Boyang's quads or K/S's quad throws) because they have to be clean and precise, but if they manage it, she thinks they can challenge anyone in the world.

Word.

I know that and he is good as tech.specialist also. It's just that I don't like when specialists are so involved with the tv etc., although he liked Ruslena's SD last season. It's not a bad panel to be fair. It's strict, which I would normally prefer because it helps the skaters and what you get it's what you earned, so do not expect favors. In the end though I think the judges will make the difference.

Remind me though who makes the call on the levels, the technical specialist or the controller?

Thank you for the translation. :)

In the past the tech panel at CoC was always stricter than the GPs in NA. So, I`m not expecting huge TES scores, but I`m so curious to see what kind of PCS Frida will get compared to Appassionata if Ruslena are clean.

The same scores that I would give to a soft chocolate cake filled with hot chocolate compared to a salad.
