Maybe it`s good that they probably won`t qualify for the GPF, so they can rework their SD. I like it, but it seems like the international judges don`t.![]()

My worry is that there is no time to change anything before CoR, and if they lose to S/K there people will start saying all sorts of things. Even if they have time to change things before Nats, it is hard to come back if you're perceived to have lost momentum. They have to absolutely nail Frida tomorrow.
I should stop stressing, their score was higher than S/K with what felt like a tougher panel, but.... but... :hpull:

It was OK, not as good as MO - I was really worried about the lift for a moment! They need to work on cleaning up the ravensburger waltz, I think that is where they lost TES. And I'm a little concerned about the PCS, they need more speed.
I have not seen the performance but what I get from the protocols they didn't lose the TES to either CL, let alone CB which are held up by the judges thanks to their crazy GoE's and PCS scores. The problem I see is with the PCS which I find to be totally ridiculous because whether they like the concept and the approach or not you simply cannot give them 6 and 7s for TR to a program which has a lot of transitions and 7s for their SS.
Honestly if there was a year for this to happen, this is probably the best one. It's never good to lose momentum but they have time to gain it again before the Olympics which is their real goal... in the whole scheme of things this year is a drop in the bucket.
I do agree that if this is how the international panels are going to view the program they aren't in a good position right now though. Hopefully they will be able to rework it before Nats and come back stronger than ever.
I do think overall they are still in an okay position, just maybe not quite as good as we had hoped.

We have seen W/P make very quick adjustments and look much stronger, so I'm sure it can be done, it's just not ideal. B/S also had a similar issue in 2010/11, and ended up with their Chess SD which was really my favourite thing they ever did.
If the judges can "get" a program like C/B's which I thought was incoherent nonsense, I don't see why they can't get I/Z's which is at least consistent musically, even if the change in mood is very abrupt. But I think it's clear here that they aren't sure about it, and given the 2 spots for Worlds, this isn't the time to risk having a program that isn't liked.

Let's say you are right but are you sure that W&P and C&B are held up with the new programs because the programs really work or because they would be in anycase? What I mean is, are we sure that even if IZ would change the SD into the most classical of pieces and skate the hell out of it we will not see 6s and 7s for TR and SS? Because it beats me to see CB and CL having 8s and 9s there compared with these two. I guess we will see tomorrow since there is no doubt that their Frida program is the most difficult FD among all couples and it's FULL of Transitions.
