Thank you, melissa! Lovely quotes from Liza as per usual - she just comes across as such a sensible and grounded person. Wish her all the best at WTT.:)

You are welcome. It is kinda hard to believe that Liza is not particularly excited about being the World Champion, how could she? At the same time, watching them at the K&C, yes, it is a business like no nonsense approach - a handshake, an exchange of looks, subdued satisfaction at yet another job done. I like this.
I remember Jayne T & Chris D saying that their coach Betty's 'sending' words were always the same: 'Now go and do your work' (or something like that - can't remember exactly) - not a good luck or do your best..
Maybe that kind of attitude to competitions is what helps Liza be so amazingly consistent

sounds like a good approach to me... Although in the K&C for worlds, it looked a bit like they were aiming at WR and that failed: "not a perfect job, but i got it done".

We (my husband and I) recently watched Mockingjay 1, and it set me thinking - how would the soundtrack music be for Liza?:

It would have to be cut in a specific way, and I haven't found anything that exactly matches that, but I think it could be done.

Thanks for all the Liza updates and for the translations! It is hard to believe she is only 18, she sounds so mature
in her interviews. Wishing Liza good luck, fun and most importantly lots silliness in K&C! :p

Liza might be just 18 but she has been through a lot. Up and down helps you become more mature. In fact, down only helps her getting stronger.

Liza will be doing a triple axel in the SP and LP at the WTT!

Hmm, I suppose since WTT is held in the homeland of 3 ladies with credited 3A (Ito, Nakano, Asada), the expectation is that Tuks must attempt this big jump element. The SP is fine for sure but the LP??? Sounds like Mishin must be really serious about adding it to her repertoire in the LP. I just thought it will be for the next season, just did not know his idea of "next season" means at WTT!

I just let out this huge gasp when I read it - a gasp which would have sounded over-dramatic and exaggerated in a soap; but it was real I tell you! - it was real! (Maybe I need to rethink my assessment of the realism to be found in soaps?.... hm.... No.;))

But that is... that is... yeah, I think... Wow!!! (speechless)

I was looking for another Doctor Johnson quote (because, while I "know" it, my memory for exact quotes is pretty much non-existant), when I came across this:

"If your determination is fixed, I do not counsel you to despair. Few things are impossible to diligence and skill. Great works are performed not by strength, but perseverance."

"What doesn't kill you... "?

You're right there. Liza has come through a lot in recent years, and it has definitely made her stronger.

But bearing in mind that one of the things Liza has overcome is the death of her father, perhaps this isn't the most appropriate phrase to use.

I haven't watched Liza's SP (or any, actually) yet, but I understand she fell on the 3A? I believe that is her 2nd fall in the season, as far as I recollect? (and I mean ANY falls - not just 3A-related) Better luck in the free, Liza! Just go out there and show'em! :)

Yup, she fell... Still it was fully rotated, and while she got second, it was almost a tie - 0.33 points difference between her and 1st place (Gracie Gold).

And yeah, now we wait for the FS =D
