Entries/Quotas for 2026 Olympics

Lithuanians have done it in the best style anyway - announcing the country's representatives (Allison Reed, Saulius Ambrulevicius, and Meda Variakojyte) in a packed Kaunas Ice Palace arena during the Lithuanian Championships:

Are there any unresolved issues at this time? I think the deadline to enter names is tomorrow?

Uzbekistan still letting things take care of themselves? Their giving up their pairs spot puts France in the main event and subsequently the Polish ice dance team gets the additional team event quota?

Reading online that the Russian male skater did not realize he needed to apply for a visa, but that just sounds too unreal. The next eligible men's spot is for Monaco.

I think I read somewhere that EU changed the law for Russian Visa in January. Maybe he had to get a new one? But there should be enough time to get that sorted out until next week.

Having not applied for the visa may not matter. From here (page 3, emphasis mine):
k. “Olympic Identity and Accreditation Card” or “OIAC” is the official document provided to Accredited Persons to identify that they are eligible to be present at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The OIAC functions as the official Olympic document granting the Accredited Person the necessary access to perform a specific function during the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026, and (for eligible categories) as an official travel document which together with the Accredited Person’s passport authorises entry into the host country of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.

I’m sorry, but not checking travel documents to go to the OLYMPICS is WILD!

You have an entire team helping you, how does that not get caught.
Well if you already had your visa and the laws changed suddenly? I think it was part of the latest sanctions

I read that he figured it was all in order considering he had qualified, but that apparently it may not be so. But I'm not sure how credible the entire thing is.

Camille Kovalev just posted on her instagram stories that she and Pavel will be in the pairs event! Great news!!

Just checked the ISU Communications, and they already uploaded the revised quota list for speed skating ans short track today!
So the official confirmation will soon follow for the realocation of the pairs spot for the Kovalevs, and I assume the dance spot in the Team event for the Poles...
No other last minute suprise is expected in the spot reallocation, as far as I know, but we shall see... :sneaky:

yup, PL ID team in team event is confirmed, sadly my kids aren't going

Huh? Are you saying that they aren't sending Dovhal/Kulesza??? 😮 They are the most experienced team you have and have higher scoring potential than your second team.
My kids are Grzegorzewska/Muratov - Oleg doesn't have citizenship and they are still 0.3 pts behind... Dovhal/Kulesza are kind of stepkids, this means I will show up for them and cheer like crazy, but you know, that's not the same

Hard to keep track of your extended family :). I also thought your kids were Dohval/Kulesza . It's great news that Poland can send a full team though ! Bravo !

Ah! I thought from the way you talked about them in competition threads that Dovhal/Kulesza were your kids.
