Eun-Soo Lim | Page 30 | Golden Skate

Eun-Soo Lim

eunsoo is a gorgous skater and really has the whole package. She is fast, has SS, is expressive, musical and her elements (jumps, spins, steps) can be all a +5 GOE on a good day. Pity she got such terrible programs this season. Her FS is ok, if it weren't a recycled Mariah program. Her SP choreography and music is just totally generic. I hope next season she will work with Tom Dickson and Shae-Lynn. There are not a lot of skaters who can work with Dickson, but she can. With Marin being a Lori-girl (stylistically speaking), this could be a nice dynamic in Rafs group...

I absolutely agree, Tom and Shae-Lynn are PERFECT choreographers for her. I am a bit disappointed with this program, I think this is style that suits her the most but program overall gives nothing special, it is still good and has nice moments but is not extraordinary in any way.

But she didn't really perform it today so I'm sure it's going to be more fun later on though. I like that she always competes for the first time so early in season, she and Raf will have picture on what is good and what is needed to work on :) Plus she still won (by over 10 points) and I just realised that Asian Trophy is Challenger this year, that's nice :agree:

Here is her FP (the dress is cute af but that's nothing new, she's the princess of FS fashion ): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yl6iIJZp-I

Such a shame she bombed the FS...
I have to say, this is not the best music choice... But I’m biased because I can’t stand “Roxie” anymore and Mariah Bell skated to Roxie too and she’s with Raf too... so it’s like... unoriginal before it begins.
With that said, it is better than I thought. The choreography has some nice moments, but clearly this was not the performance Eunsoo can give. I think when she skates it clean it will leave a much better impression on me.
I wonder why she had so many problems... I hope it’s nothing serious. Perhaps it’s just nerves.
Still think she will have a wonderful Senior debut! She’s improved so much so quickly, it’s almost shocking. But I’m not shocked because I knew she had it in her, she only needed a better place to train. And to think that is the case to many other wonderful talents...
Anyways! When is her next competition???

Someone in the chat of the Asian Open live stream said she’d also be going to US classic? Does anyone know if that’s true? I don’t see a list of entries yet

just watched free. has some nice moment of acting, which she never did before, thus it is an exploration, and those chicago moment she actually performed pretty well with authentic feel. Talented girl, No Doubt.
but the music, first half is indeed the same as Mariah Bell's SP Roxie music... second half is another song. Don't know how much involvement Akiko Suzuki is in this program.
...
...
but Gold will glister regardless.
Hopefully she can perform it clean next time.

the costume is great, but a bit too revealing for my taste, I think her costume has this issue in her junior days as well. but this is not a big issue.

Maybe it's true. In the Korean article i saw, she said that would be going to US classic

Where was her ChSq in the FS? In the protocol it said it was the final element after her flying spin, but I didn't see one o.O

The Chicago program is a no for me. This is her last season's SP but with better choreography. It's nice that Akiko used other ATJ songs but it remains generic. It feels inferior in comparison when you see it after the SP. The program made it seem like she belongs in the junior.

Congrats to Eunsoo for winning the Asian Trophy! A great start to her senior debut.

Not a great FS though to start her senior career. I guess no matter how well she will perform this, it will be really difficult to love this program, not only because of its bad music cut, but it really looks utterly generic. Her SP is so much better (despite the generic sounding music). She has a great presence on ice though and can really project so well; her musicality is also remarkable. Her ss also improves so much, and she's really turning out to be an all-around skater. Like others already mentioned, a Tom Dickson choreography can work wonders for her.

Hopefully no injury this year, and while I love the entire Korean team, I do want her to go to Worlds. Good luck!

Congrats Eunsoo!

The short is OKish, but the long has just the same music cut as Mariah's short last year, even choreo and costume look similar. You can't do this under the same coach to the promissing upcoming girl like Eunsoo.

Also smile baby girl, whatever happens on the ice, please keep smiling - especially with program like that.

She will be going to US classic. Here is article about her plan.

[ Eunsoo Lim will compete Challenger competition once again before the senior Grand Prix debut. She will be participated the U.S Classic in the middle of next month.]

So happy that Eun soo win her first senior competition!!🤩🤩 I think FS is not very well performed, but program is good. The reason she couldn’t perform 100% is condition of ice, in my opinion, so look forward to her next competition❤️

Wow, I really liked that SP! That was a wonderful dress, and she skated beautifully! I've never seen her before, but I'll keep watching her. I didn't like the music to the FS, but I liked the step sequence alright. Someone in the YouTube comment section said that Suzuki did the choreography for it, and I guess I can see that in the step sequence. The slower music seems to fit Eunsoo better, though. I can see her becoming one of the top skaters in the world. Too bad for the falls, but she landed the harder jumps. She has the hard part down! :)

yesss I'm happy Eunsoo will go to US Int'l. It will help her in the rankings and increase competition experience, good job winning AT! I was surprised by the waxel but hope she picks herself up and do better. The Chicago program sorely reminds me of Mariah's, hopefully Eunsoo will be more comfortable with it and make it her own as the season progresses. Her SP is a masterpiece tho 👌I'm proud of her improvements.

Can someone translate Eunsoo’s Instagram story where she’s answering questions - some are pics of her and Raf, some seem to be of her training (?) - I wanna know what she says if anyone here can read Korean or if someone somewhere has translated it

Not all questions, but some interesting answer from her IG story.
