Yeah, that's how it seems to be for Eteri's students. She picks all of their music, programs and layouts for them and they do as they are told.
that’s just.. sad.

I don't think he discovers talent so much as talent comes knocking on his door.
On one hand... On the other, it prevents cases like Radionova's Titanic program. I believe it's that way with Buianova as well. Judging by Sotskova's interviews, at least.that’s just.. sad.

Has anyone noticed this?
From the IceNetwork article: 'Orser met with Medvedeva, 18, and her mother, Zhanna Devyatova, on Sunday, April 22, at the Mayfield Hotel in Seoul'.
This was the exact date she deleted most of her pictures with Yuzuru from her Instagram.

According to Eteri it was Yulia who picked and insisted she skated to SL.

I was just thinking about this...and thinking that it probably says something that the most respected/celebrated program from one of Eteri's skaters was one the athlete themselves insisted on.
And yet we got Alexandra Trusova skating to Big Spender
I think that's a general feature of transitioning from junior to senior level, in that early on the coaches are obviously going to be picking what sorts of things their charges do (albeit, it's never a good idea to saddle them with something they aren't interested in), but by the time you're entering senior competition, the skaters really should start to get some say in what they do. Eteri is on the extreme end in that she dictates everything.Sidestep: I think changing coaches can be good for some, less so for others. Some stay with the same one for ever, and they thrive - sometimes with ups and downs on the skating scene, but always with trust in their coaches. One thing I noticed about 'stayers' until long into adulthood is that these coaches gave their charges room to breathe, let them be who they wished to be quite apart from getting results.
It's great program. I sincerely think it's the best program I've seen this season.
I remember her crediting Yulia in an early interview but after she had left room the entire credit for the program and how ungrateful Yulia was. I also feel like most of zhenya’s programs were about recreating that type of success by pushing really dark topics (e.g., 9-11, clinical death) but they always came off as...extra.I was just thinking about this...and thinking that it probably says something that the most respected/celebrated program from one of Eteri's skaters was one the athlete themselves insisted on.
