I have to ask, because I'm seriously thinking my reading skills are giving in - Eteri saying "Brian is hurt by her teams success and they must train harder to hurt him more" is a 'confident reply', but TAT simply stating her opinion that Brian Orser is the best coach in the world right now is dismissive, disrespectful and behaving like a brat?

There are zero ways for me to answer that that wouldn't get deleted and me an infraction.

TAT is a third part here... you would expected her to be more objective and to say that Orser is one of the best coaches in the world.
But she is well trained in backstage "diplomacy"(games), so i get it.

I think if there is something wrong it's not with Eteri but with some local posters. Orser said he wants to understand how Eteri does it. Eteri replied that it feels like he is challenging her and she will do her best to make him even more challenged. Very strong and confident answer.

I guess men don't count. They can't right now, because otherwise it would take at least 4 years until Eteri could have a 2-time Olympic champion - and we can't have that. An actual argument for why Brian might be a better or more successful coach - ugh!

In hindsight, there were quite a few signs of this. Meds knew that Alina was a threat. She already had higher TES than her when they competed at Russian Nationals at the end of 2016.

Meds then got a new program that had higher TES potential but then went back to one with lower TES.

It is likely that Eteri and Meds had discussed this in the season leading up to the Olympics and that Eteri was adamant that she would win if clean. That explains Meds saying she had done everything she could and Eteri denying this, as it meant she had been wrong.

Yes, completely agreed. And I don't actually think Eteri's to blame for Med's loss: skating with a broken foot and also some back pain we now hear about, it's no wonder Med couldn't pull off any harder content this season. Thank the modern medicine and her willpower that she was able to skate this well at the Olys at all. I doubt Med herself didn't know that, but the problem is that it's evident Eteri can't admit she was wrong about Med's winning chances. That's a pattern with her anyway, as everyone's already pointed out, when you hear her talk about her former students, she's never the one in the wrong about anything. And how can you trust a coach who can't admit a completely evident truth just because that would mean admitting to a mistake?

How laughable. Lipniskaia is as far from a GOAT as you can be. She's prime example of a burnout (greatest of all burnouts, actually), a promising skater who skyrocketed for one (!) season, then flamed out even more quickly afterwards.

You don't understand Russian, do you? "Задели результаты" is not the same as "is hurt". "Будем и дальше задевать" is not the same as "hurt him more".

In this context "задели" is something in between "cannot dismiss" and "is envious".

As for TAT, she is not your everyday person who is asked on the street who is the best coach in the world. She cannot simply state her opinion - she knows exactly that it is not Orser but Eteri who is the best ladies coach now with trailing Hamada. And saying that Orser trains people who are ahead of our time. Who are they? I mean Ladies. Gabby and Liz Bet? What about 2 quads from Trusova or 4Lz fro Scherbakova? TAT is not stupid - she just does not like Eteri to put it mildly. And her phrase about Orser is very obviously childish.

Lipnitskaya was lovely, but she literally had one (1) good season, where she missed at her most important competition. That's not GOAT material, although I did really like her. And, she left Eteri quite bitterly, too.

Go watch the video at 4 minutes 48. She SAID it - it's her voice, it's her words. She said : "I have a feeling Orser challenged me. He is hurt by our good results. So you need to work harder to hurt him even more". I can understand that she is hurt by the fact that Evgenia left her, but her behavior is just immature.
