I mean if they would have seeked help for her injuries sooner, adjusted her training, adjusted her scheduled competitions, etc. Maybe things could've been different. For example, maybe if they would've caught her back injury sooner, and adjusted her training to go easier on it, maybe she'd still be able to do a biellman today. This wasn't meant to be accusatory, I'm not saying I KNOW there was mismanagement, I'm just saying that it feels like things could've been different, and it's just painful to think about because I wish it was.
As for having hope, I don't really know. I do think she's on the right path, but I didn't necessarily mean that I think she's going to win the next Olympics. I just meant I think she's on the right path to be the best she can possibly be at this point in her career. Of course there will still be struggles, but we saw her get stronger and stronger both mentally and physically this season. There may be some setbacks this summer because she spent some time off because of another injury, BUT I truly believe she'll continue to get better mentally, physically, artistically, and as a person. And if we're talking about her chances going forward- if she can continue to build on the momentum she built up at the end of last season, I think there will be more chances for her to compete again at the World stage. It's not certain, I don't know how likely it is, but I do think it's possible! And even if it doesn't happen, I think Zhenya has grown a lot as a person and will accept her results with grace and just keep working, not only because she wants to win (she definitely does) but also just because she loves what she does. (Sorry for the long reply lol)
Fair points. I think she can be her best at this point in her career ss well. Hopefully that will mean metals and consistent metal convention but I think there's going to be a crowd at the top of maybe three or four skaters battling for medals at Grand Prix events.
Even though we love figure skating because of the beauty of the sport it's just such a tough sport. One of the toughest. Zhenya is a surivor.

Maybe if she approaches her flip the way she approaches her lutz, it could improve? Idk
