Evgenia Medvedeva

From the press conference: @mskostner is also asked if the costume is heavy. She says: „No, not really”. A journalist jokes: „Is it full of diamonds?”, „Nooo”, Carolina answers with a laughter. @JannyMedvedeva intervenes: „Carolina is a diamond herself”. Carolina: „You are too”. #EuroFigure

And also : Presser: @msKOSTNER is asked about the costume, if it’s the final version, if she’ll keep it. Carolina says she hasn’t seen the video yet, the costume under the lights in the arena – she’ll watch the video and decide. @JannyMedvedeva adds quickly: „Trust me, it looks amazing”.

😍 Love this

It seems these two are friends, which is great <3

Great observation as I just looked up wiki myself and even Oksana didn’t win Euros before the Olympics in 1994!

Yes, I about it have also written, and the champion of Europe hasn't won gold. Katarina Witt in 1988 was the last Champion of Europe who managed to make it.

I wonder if Evgenia will read her Fan Fest from time to time.
If so: Congratulations for fighting so much! Welcome to the ice, I know you're a legitimate champion, you deserve that Olympic gold.

I almost stopped breathing when she did her first jump, she saved it!
The Fs was an intense fight, and I can only love her more for that. The way she did not give up is never admirable. Beautiful Anna Karenina, I just want the team to make small adjustments, they could add an entrance or exit with attractive spirals, an Arabesque or Charlotte prior to a combination. She needs to raise the BV, doing that + move a combo to the second half, and maybe this is risky, but I could change a combo for 3F-3L.

I believe in Evgenia, she deserves her Olympic gold, her PCs and all the titles she has achieved.:luv17::points:

I didn't think I could love Zhenya any more than I did, but she proved me wrong at the medal ceremony today. The amount of happiness, grace, and joy she showed to her training mate and victor Alina is more than anyone could have expected or wanted. She really has a personality of gold to match all the medals she has at home. Plus, she's got such a wonderful work ethic and competitive spirit. It broke my heart to see her cry in her interview where she told interviewers about her sadness over withdrawing from the GPF and Russian Nationals. When she first got injured, I cursed the skating gods, asked them why they didn't protect their best lady. But I think this might actually be good for her: it shows her perseverance in coming back from injury, gives her a better reason to fight in Korea for the OGM, and made her a better person. Of course, I wouldn't have wished an injury on anyone; I more so than many know how awful they are. But she came back and killed all my doubts today. Her mental strength is better than ever, and while her jumps are arguably not as good as before her injury, that's understandable, and her flexibility has improved. Her favorite spin, the one she does before her step sequence in her FS, looks amazing, and so does her skid spiral. I have so much admiration for her: even when injured, she works, and comes back improved. If I could have even a fraction of her character, I'd be a better person. I really think that "Evgenia Medvedeva" will become a household name, although it should have been before. In the future, we might see a slew of young Russian girls named Evgenia, girls inspired to take up skating after the one and only Evgenia. She has totally changed ladies figure skating and given her fans something to constantly fangirl over, plus allowed us to watch a competition without shaking from nerves. I think I was more scared today than she was! Her strength and courage are so admirable, and I hope she stays a powerful name like she is now. Prove your haters wrong, baby bear, and go get that OGM. It's yours for the taking!

For team event I’d like to see evgenia do the sp, and Alina the fs. They both deserve to get a medal in that event, so fingers crossed the fed does right by them both!

Yeah I'm feeling confident that will be the case. But I think giving Zags another chance to get that LP out there in the team event before singles will definitely be the perfect chance for a PCS bump in singles too.

Anyways, welcome back Zhenya. I could tell she was giving it her all so I know she'll be even better at the olys.

Well, alina would have to have two free skates like she did at euro to get even higher pcs. Not impossible, but hard work for Alina, since she was pretty much foot perfect already there. I think sp for evgenia because she’s been a lot more consistent than Alina in it, and Alinas proven the same for her long program.

Does anyone know when Russia will announce the team?

Higher than 75 pcs for Alina? It's beyond ridiculous, guys! Well, it makes sense since this is figure jumping anyway.

Reading Zhenya's words after the competition, I can't help but admire her even more for her incredible strength and sportsmanship. I'm glad that she feels that her portrayal of AK was heartfelt and that she's happy with it.

I think her vulnerabilty yesterday made her even more beautiful in my eyes, and it seems like it's a sentiment shared by most - even people who normally dislike her were impressed by her yesterday. I think that's a big victory. I can't wait to see her on the Olympic stage.

I can confirm that. I have to say that I was never very fond of her skating, but I felt that at this Europeans she skated with more emotions and intensity. And I also have to say that I admire and respect her attitude, her fair-play and grace towards defeat and victory. A true champion!

Each day I naively think Zhenya can't amaze me even more...

Today she skated to an iconic Russian song "The Cuckoo", she performed with such a power and so strong feelings... There is no way to explain this, but it took me a couple of minutes to wake up from a stupor.
