Evgenia Medvedeva

It's just recently this trend with 2d half been used by many, not only in juniors and Eteri's girls but by men as well. Therefore I was really thinking a lot what are the pros and cons and will ISU keep 10% add.

they should. becouse it's really harder.

Hey, I don't know if the comment is about me or the poster from Twitter, but with my postings I have never tried or wanted to give the impression that I know everything. In this sport I know very little, that's why I am interested and ask myself questions about coaches' decisions, training style etc. That's also the reason to speak up in this forum and bring up some topic, so that I can also read what other people think/know. Everyone should get a chance to express his opinion :(

No worries, I am on it with you :) I also thought it's ok to speak up and discuss what is going on. That's all that we can do imo.
It's interesting to me really, how team and skaters choose their strategy and maintain the high level from one season to another, especially if this skater is one of my favorites.

And if my thoughts are too much than I can keep it down as well, I don't mean any harm either ;)

Eteri asks her "Do you know why it is hard to be an athlete?"
Zhenya : I know
Eteri: I see you want to take a rest? (Ironic)
Zhenya : I don't

What was Zhenya saying in the vid?

Eteri asked Janny: Do you know why it's hard to be an athlete?
Janny: I know.
Eteri: Why?
Janny: You have to work all the time.
Eteri: You want to rest (here some tricky Russian language construction without 'you', so basically Eteri just said, sometimes everyone wants to rest, not particularly You Janny want to rest).
Janny: I don't want to. (saying nearly crying but with determined voice)

I hope they won't dramatize it so much because Zhenya hates pity

Me too, but I doubt so, they already put it in promo how Janny falls and nearly cried and as well Alina's story about how she broke her arm and after leg, she also looked upset and shy, but cute. However they both strong and true professionals, so they will be fine and will support each other imo.

Media always makes the story 10 X dramatic

Wow, judging by trailer, this is gonna be an epic documentary!!! Can't wait to see it! Those 2 seconds of Zhenya's reaction say everything about her mentality. :clapper:
I thought i couldn't respect her more, but she proven me wrong once again. It's unbelievable how they managed to capture her reaction so well and this is what clearly shows what kind of stubborn and strong-willed character one should have to be "an invincible queen for years" in the eyes of casual fans. What a girl. What a fighter.

Eteri: You want to rest (here some tricky Russian language construction without 'you', so basically Eteri just said, sometimes everyone wants to rest, not particularly You Janny want to rest).
It is even more subtle. She says "Так хочется заслужено отдохнуть от этого" - "How nice it would be to get the deserved rest" implying Med just wants to sit on her medals and do nothing.

Generic you also exists in English and German.

Alina's story about how she broke her arm and after leg, she also looked upset and shy, but cute.

Upset? Looking at her, I thought she's gonna laugh in a moment about those broken limbs.

When she slams her fists on the ice I literally got chills. What a fighter.

I got chills when she answered to Eteri. But you need to know russian to understand it fully. When Eteri was trying to cheer her up, the way Zhenya has answered - with a bit of irritation and anger in her voice - is priceless.

Thanks AKTKN, that's even better way to put it in words.

Thanks Dante, I always srugle how to translate it, again I am not a professinal translater, it was just first think that came to mind :)

Well, I don't know really, it's too short to judge. To me when she speaks how she got the first injury and went to Spartakiada and broke her foot, she seems a bit upset.
However it doesn't matter really :) It's just a small promo, I am just looking forward to watching this documentary!

Yes, even just the way she answers gave me chills, even without understanding completely! She's so tough.

Olympics are very close :drama:. From what I have seen in the photos, Evgenia is training well, and she is always seen with a smile and the team in harmony. I just want everything to go well for her.

I look forward to the documentary! Evgenia is a girl with such a unique personality and she trains so hard

Seems like Zhenya wasn't so much upset by her falls as insulted by Eteri's insinuation that she sometimes wants to have a rest.

Eteri's abuses confirmed!
