Evgenia Medvedeva

Guys please, can we not post things like this (shipping) in the fan fest? They are so disrespectful to the skaters, who are real people, not fictional characters to be shipped with each other. Also let's try not to spam too much please. I came back and I went through 3 pages of basically nothing :rolleye: please and thank youuuuu

Propositions for new system reported by Ambessi

thread about Lakernik's interview

Important points: 10% bonus in the second half most likely will be removed. Confirmed news: -5 and +5 GOE. Harsher punishments for errors (falls for example will cost almost half the BV). Each GOE correspond to 10% bonus/minus of the BV of each element.

About Zhenya's future quad attempt...Keep in mind that with competitions' various conditions, most athletes can only show about half of their real abilities. If she want to put one quad relatively safely in her program she has to have a consistency that's about 80% and up in practice. Depending on GOE a quad without bonus might get less points than a triple with bonus. Doing a quad is hard enough, couple with difficult transitions/arm variations/height/distance covered/delay rotation to get bonus sounds even harder.

Her advantage on backloading is likely not supported anymore. This is all turned into a GOE game.

Even so, I think she should try training quad, of course with precautions, because more and more ladies put more transitions/arm variations in their programs and she is gradually losing her advantages. She has to prepare a "card" in her hand in case of need.

And I think a relatively consistent quad is possible but with time and patience. Maybe at least 2 seasons of serious training will get her there. But -3lo combo and lutz edge fixing sound safer of a direction...
Depends on which she find more at ease/motivating I guess.

Are you serious? 0_0 All these new rules are practically shouting in your face - quads in ladies are not needed anymore. And you still talking about them like it's a must
Zhenya has two great weapons on her side:
1) consistency
2) reputation
She doesn't need quads. With new rules all her inconsistent rivals will make graves for themselves on their own. She has only one worthy rival - Zagitova. But with new system with much more weight on judges bias (inflated GOE+PCS) and less on actual jumps difficulty (reduced BV)- Zagitova is not dangerous anymore.

You're naive for thinking every ladies will stay inconsistent and have relatively simple programs, there're strong juniors coming up too. Reputation?
When eteri junior girls coming up what would she do? They'd be not less consistent, and see how Alina pcs went up to be not much less then hers in a short amount of time? It would likely be the same again with other girls.

All those new change, at least what is revealed now, looks like figure skating will be freezed (hardly anybody would try new things) and more subjective.

I was Team Quad, but with all of those BV reductions is it really worth the risk anymore? We know how long it took Sasha to finally land it fully rotated.
I’m honestly not sure how they’ll be able to increase the tech content if they take away the 10% too (which is stupid in my opinion) other than fixing the lutz and repeating it in along with the flip.

Let's see: Rika Kiriha is training 3A, Wakaba and Kaori, Satoko said they'd train it too, Mai said she'd try 4S, Alena 3A, don't even need to talk about Sasha

Don't know how consistent they can be but let's say: one is inconsistent but with higher BV, but they land everything in important competitions, like Worlds for example. If Zhenya is in this situation there're 2 choices:

1st: yolo it, fail and be second, success and be first

2nd: not yolo and accepting second place without a fight.

If she doesn't have a "card" in her hand that'd remove the 1st choice.

Basically she doesn't have to put a quad in her programs but need to have it in the background as backup. And I think that's what other ladies would be thinking too. After Sasha landing those quads and rika landings those 3A there're just a sudden surge of these news.

And as she said "one shouldn't rely on their rivals mistakes" because who knows when they'd not make mistakes.

The thing is they might all revise their strategies after the rule changes (maybe except Rika, Alena, Sasha).
Right now it seems like avoid falls at all costs.
Well, only time will tell, she has a wonderful 3S and I would love to see a quad from her as much as anyone trust me.

Changing the subject but Wakaba just posted on her instagram story a boomerang of Zhenya doing her makeup[emoji7][emoji24][emoji7][emoji24]
Any way you can download it and post it? I don't have Instagram [emoji20]
