Evgenia Medvedeva

I think her jazz program she should do old Hollywood glam. She really is stunning.

I was thinking the same thing. She has the right look to pull it off.

There was that one very flirty exhibition program she did a few years ago in a red dress. She looked like one of the pin-up girls from the 1950s. It was incredible.

After seeing the program, I'm thinking a black, 1950s Audrey Hepburn "Breakfast at Tiffany's" look...right down to the above the elbow gloves to emphasize the arm movements.

Ted Barton, please work your magic* to make the ACI accessible!

* = Ted's the one behind the free LS for the JGP and also he and his fellow commentators at Canada's more recent Nats got the networks to show all but last flight for free. AFAIK ACI isn't being shown on CBC or TSN (though CBC doesn't have its schedule up for the season yet), so why the restriction, o my country?

This hasn't been the case before. Previous year's are still available on Skate Canada's DailyMotion channel.

Sounds as though it's ISU rights outside of Canada that are being protected.

But all they would need to do would be to get Skate Canada to share the Daily Motion ad revenue from outside Canada if they think it's a big deal.

Unless the ISU has been trying to sell the rights...

Another case of ISU not having an actual clue... Growing the sport does not equal restricting coverage... what a bunch of idiots

I'm afraid Ted must have already been sold his soul and a kidney to let us watch JGP live. Mammon would demand human sacrifices for seniors.

By the way, if someone wants to grab a geo-blocked live stream from within an allowed country, feel free to PM me. I'm afraid my proxies won't have enough speed for ripping it in real time.

Random question, did Zhenya's mom move with her to Canada?

Yes. Zhenya is living in Toronto with her mom.

Edit: I believe Zhenya mentioned her and her mom at the airport and being picked up by Jason. Maybe Zhenya's mom had gone back to Russia a little early to check on the grandmother.

in the test skate interviews she talked about speaking with her mother and grandmother over the phone.

Not exactly. That's what she said: "В своей жизни я сейчас поменяла все: начиная от языка, на котором я в основном говорю, т.е. я по-русски разговариваю только с мамой и бабушкой по телефону." (= I've changed everything in my life: starting from the language I mostly speak, that is, I only speak Russian with my mother, and grandmother on the phone.) She wanted to say that she only speaks Russian to her mum everyday (her mum has been with Zhenya all this time in Canada) and she speaks Russian when phoning her grandma who's in Moscow.
