Evgenia Medvedeva

Guys, did someone see the 3Lz? Not the one in the program but the one she did right after Liza‘s skate? The angle wasn‘t the best but it did look good to my untrained eye. I know I’m not the best at spotting edges even though I‘ve improved a bit so I‘m asking for others who might know better.

Yes, I saw that too. Edge looks better it could have been straight edge was difficult to see, but that is at least better than that A shaped inside edge she had before. Her lutz and flip have a much more beautiful take off without that A shape :D.

It's difficult to say. On her take-off her left leg is really bend as she'd be going for an inside edge, the blade though stays flat, so I think it would be probably !. Still, she's holding the outside edge longer than before, the change comes though with the toe pick. I don't know if it's from the camera angle but this 3Lz still looked bigger than her usual standard. Both 2A nearly perfect, she's not throwing herself into the jump any more but rather generating great height. 3F looked also bigger, the 3T a little bit muscled (nearly the same as before). The 3Loop looked a little bit awkward again but she managed to pull it off.

I don't understand the people who were commenting. How on earth do her jumps looked muscled and heavy? They have more hight, look more "free" and her core is more stable, therefore also the axis looks straighter.

My favourite part was the StepSeq - she attacked it with such fire, hopefully she has the energy in the competition to perform it like that. And that training outfit is so cool, I even wished she would wear it for the free skate.

That StSq looked sooo good. I am so pumped for the FS now :D

The 3S had so much height (like, an unusual amount of height) but she was off axis a bit. It was really strange, but almost cool, haha. I'm glad her jumps seem solid but I also wish she wasn't doing 3 Lutz. Is it even helpful (points wise) to do 2 Lutz and Toes rather than 2 Flips and Loops?

Sandra Bezic is listed as a choreographer for the free program now. Cool she got involved with that!

Thank God! That is probably why it looks so much better now. Not shaming Wilson, but his choreo for Zhenya lacked some spark and fire. Sandra certainly helped to fix that. Lol.

Popping in to say that the runthrough was FIRE.

Speed, beautiful jumps with flow and height, much improved step sequence and interpretation. She's looking great and ready to fight!

3lz looks much better, and the 3S she did in the warmup was HUGE. I am amazed. Good luck Zhenya <3

Looks like Evgenia came to play! She dressed like an assasin, too!

Maybe this is part of their plan, to do 3lz in competition as much as possible to make her get used to the improved lz under pressure. Long term goal is more important than a GP gold.

Compared with last year, her jumps looks a lot better now! Last year one could see that she try hard to jump and that she is injured, but this year the jump take-off is already smoother.

I liked her steps too, not so much the music (probably i am tired with so many tangos in skating in the last 10 years).

She was emoting a lot during the run-through. It felt like old Zhenya in a way since she didn't really emote during ACI.

Sandra Bezic was probably behind that practice outfit too. Looks like they were going for a sexier look.
