I've been emotional from before the Olympics up until now. I'm surprisingly calm. I love her new sp program and I think she will be on top again. If she skipped this season, people would have said she was afraid to skate. It has taken real courage to compete with injuries, New technique, and new coach and country. She is amazing.

Here's her instagram broadcast. I started tearing up with her at the end.
If he said this I think it was probably meant as a joke. In fact, when I did not do something well, I liked such comments on my adress better than just consoling. This can be the thing that raises your morale, you can laugh on your mistakes rather than feel pity about them.
I haven't seen the protocols yet but her spins seemed to be better. Also, she kind of regained the usual height on the 3Loop. Obviously there is progression from the last competition on those problem areas. She has definitely been working hard for it. Now the 3Flip... I don't know if this is a mental block or the jump is giving her some trouble because of the changed technique on the evil brother jump - the Lutz. And the problem with the 2A was psychological, she was hesitating and lost speed going into it.
Still,I love her new SP. It's dramatic and kind of sensual. I could feel all the emotions from it. It would probably remain as my most favourite program of hers, I hope she would perform it cleanly someday somewhere. It's not like her old programs at all. This program doesn't emote the feelings through facial expression but through her entire body. From all 18 contenders, her performance was really on another level. I have expected that her artistic abilities would go downhill after the change of coaches, because there's no other Alexei Zheleznyakov to train dance with but I was so wrong. I don't know if it's just me but she's grown artistically so much. I've noticed it first at her shows in the summer but now it's even more obvious. I know that artistry doesn't win competitions, it's also fair enough. But I wanted to share this. She's still my No.1 and I am cheering for her no matter what!

So the pain is in her upper back? I always assumed Zhenya’s problem was in her lower back.
The patches almost look like cupping marks, like I’ve seen on Olympic swimmers.
