She may be filming for that movie she got a role in. Or doing a medical exam. Or going to a specialist (jump, skating skills) for something. Or something with sponsors. Or maybe just taking a short break lol

I doubt that she is getting a treatment in Canada because it's very expensive as far as I know. Whether she has a personal physician in Russia, I don't know. But sport medicine in Germany is the best one in Western Europe and it's not that surprising that she gets examined there.


About my concerns on TAT - I was surprised that she was strictly watching Med during practises at RussNats, it looked more as if she was her coach and not just someone who is giving some random advices. I am worried because probably TAT and Yagudin were the ones who played a big role in Med's decision for moving abroad, which decision I still support, but what if she's giving her some other not so good advices? Also, I am wondering - why is Evgenia training at CSKA? She's still a Sambo student and she could have skated at their own rink, during practices of other coaches without Eteri's team. And moreover - how does she train without a coach? :confused: Tarasova is also slowly loosing her status in RusFed and she tends to make a lot of drama in the media, which in my opinion doesn't make Zhenya's reputation any favour. She was praising and lobbying for Radionova the same way some years ago, and Lena ended nowhere.

As far as I know, neither TAT and especially Yagudin has anything to do with Zhenya's decision to cange coaches. It was her own decision and Zhenya also thanked Javi who gave her courage. About practice...Zhenya was also very surprised when she saw Tarasova with Brian. She came to support them and I don't think it's that bad, Zhenya needed support. Yes, Tarasova was praising Radionova, but she has never said anything bad about Zhenya either. She was kind of cautious about her in the very beginning but then only praise..Well, that's who she is, eccentric and fiercely loyal. Plus, she is not training with Tarasova. Sorry for rumbling, I just don't think it is that big of a deal, perhaps, she just needs to be in Moscow to do smth, but of course there are all kind of rumors on russian figure skating media.

As for training without a coach, Yuzuru does that everytime he's in Japan. The longest was after the 2014 COC incident, a few months. They are adult skaters, no longer juniors who need supervision.

Plus at CKSA she is friendly with some of the students. So it's not like training at some random rink. And she is 19. And a skater for 16 years.

No doubt there will be a rink in Moscow available for Medvyedeva to prepare herself under supervision of a local trainer and with consultation by Skype or something from Mr Orser and his staff.
Still, there is a lot at stake for her, so it will most likely be a stressful period of preparation.
 
To be honest, I don't think much of Zhenya still being part of Sambo. To me it doesn't seem like she's really welcomed there. It's almost as if she never was a part of it.
 
I doubt Medvyedeva will be denied entrance to the premises when she still is registered to Sambo 70. The doors are probably open from like 0800 till 2200, so there must be some time slots available for her to use the training facilities or one of the ice rinks. All the Moscow rinks are governed by MosKomSport, and if they give orders to let Medvyedeva train, these orders are obeyed.

From what I have seen of training videos there, each skater works by him- or herself most of the time. None of the other skaters would mind her presence. Bringing other (foreign) trainers in is perhaps another matter.

For emotion's sake, it is probably better to train elsewhere. Plus, there is always a residual chance of some malice towards her, though I seriously doubt the sentiments goes that deep. All the people involved are professionals and under intense scrutiny of the media in the run towards Euros and Worlds.

Of course she's not forbidden to go, and that's not really what I meant, but it still looks like she's not welcomed.

Me neither. I honestly wish she‘d change to represent CSKA. She‘d be their top active figure skating student of the school (together with Nastya Gubanova) now that Maria Sotskova is concentrating more on her studies. It would certainly be more of an advantage than officially still representing Sambo but in reality not gaining anything. But it would be drama again. I don‘t even want to imagine what would be said about her again. I don‘t know. This whole Sambo situation just doesn‘t sit right with me.
 
Ok, looks like it's been a pretty quiet day (meaning, we do not know whether Evgenia is actually on her way back to TCC)...(?)
 
Pretty off-topic but Eteri just posted many pics on her official instagram with all the skaters who left her including zhenya. Strange that she would do this now. I wonder if she’s feeling nostalgic lol

What my automatic instagram translation says what she‘s written in the caption: In these pictures are shown part of our souls and part of our lives. Released yet kept with us.

But I translated the automatic Instagram translation from German to English so it‘s probably not accurate at all lol. If someone knows Russian, please tell.

I‘ll keep my thoughts to myself about these pictures, the timing and the intention. I think everyone can make up their own mind on that. ;)
